Love To Craft June Anything Goes Challenge

It's June 1st and time for another Anything Goes challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog!

Here is my design team sample. My wedding anniversary was Friday and this is the card I gave to Honey. The idea for it came from 3 new-to-me supplies I received recently: the Sizzix Tim Retro Typewriter die, the Just Write Stamps Woodgrain Upcycled Frame stamp and a Penny Black Slapstick stamp set with the sentiment and the little hearts.

I took the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 Sketch #183 and changed the dimensions to 5.5" x 8.5". While this made the sketch longer it actually worked well for my purposes and I could still use all of the elements in the sketch as placed.

I stamped and heat-embossed the Just Write frame stamp using Versafine Clair Warm Breeze and clear ep on Distress watercolor paper. I watercolored the frame using Inktense blocks. I watercolored the center of the frame using Distress Markers scribbled on a stamping block using a wet brush.

For the triple circle elements on each side at top, I used our initials with dimensional Tin Type sticker alphas.

I also used the Tin Type stickers to reference 33, meaning our 33rd anniversary. I stamped the tiny hearts with Brilliance Crimson and the sentiment in Clair Warm Breeze, then heat-embossed both in clear ep. I added some foam hearts from my Valentines Stash drawer.

I had a very old XOXOX stamp in my stash (that I long ago forgot who made) which I stamped with the Brilliance ink and clear-embossed. I used card stock papers from the DCWV Industrial Chic Stack for my card base mats on a white Recollections Heavy card stock base that I colored using my blending brushes and Archival Aquamarine and Paradise Teal. The mats are edge distressed as is the stamped frame. The DCWV Stack has an elements page where I got the two labels I layered to stamp the sentiment on. The large type elements on the base mat photographing as green are in reality a dark teal and are also showing the frame edge as more blue than it really is. Oh well, the joys of the camera.

I cut Tim's Retro Typewriter die twice, out of black shimmer card stock and a black-gold metallic shimmer card stock, both from the stash drawers. I layered part of the black on top along with the keys. I took another DCWV label and stamped the XOXOX's and fit it into the typewriter.

Love how that frame looks so worn in the close-ups...
Here's the shine coming off the typewriter. I ink-edged both labels quite heavily with Clair Warm Breeze and then clear heat-embossed them.

Finally, I took some adhesive tan photo corners, pulled off the bottoms and used the tops at each corner. They were not on the sketch but I just had to use! :-)

Thanks for visiting and come join in the fun at Love to Craft! Wishing you a healthy and safe week! XOX
