Ugly Sweater Time

Greetings from a stormy upper Texas Gulf Coast.
Hope your weather is better than ours.
😊
This card began with me wanting to use this Dies To Die For Ugly Sweater Die Set I had not used yet. Since there are a couple of sweater challenges, I chose a sketch and then rummaged through my Christmas scraps for sweater-y paper scraps. I found this striped paper which I cut with a Scraps of Life stitched rectangle die and then highlighted the stitching with a purple Sakura Star Dust gel pen.

This Splitcoaststampers sketch was my inspiration for choosing my card front paper scrap, which doesn't exactly line up with the sketch's sections, but it's close enough for gov't work, as they used to say.

The top sentiment, sweater and reindeer were cut out of white card. I colored the top sentiment die, sweater and reindeer with Promarkers, accenting with metallic gel pens and glitter markers. The bottom Stamplorations sentiment was stamped with Green Oasis VF Clair and embossed with clear powder. The green A2 card base is SU.

Inside, sentiments created and framed by me in PSE.

One last look.
This will make a good guy or girl card for next Christmas, but as I usually need a few guy cards, I will tag it for that..
Thanks for visiting and have a great rest of your weekend.
Stay warm!

For my 3rd entry, I'll say that anyone on my list that has a wicked sense of humor is a pleasure to create for and I try to capitalize on that when creating. 😎

Column O: Layers / Stitching (Faux) / Rectangle / Free
Sweater, Stripes, Stitching, Season
It's a pretty traditional card as to theme, BUT blue, green and purple are non-traditional colors
The sweater dies are new to me

You've created a fun winter/Christmas card, what a wonderful take on the reindeer theme! I like the combination of green, blue, and purple shades - so colourful and untraditional, and wonderful to go with the ugly sweater motif. I also like how you took the time to decorate the inside of your card, and pick all the perfect sentiments. The background paper with the knitted pattern couldn't be more perfect to round up your project. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

Hugs, Veronika

Funny how ugly sweaters often end up looking pretty 'cool'! What a great background created for your sweater with the fun deer face on the front and sparkly cuffs. Thanks for sharing with us at Inkspirational:Glitter. Julia xx

Cute card. I love that knitting looking paper. It works perfect with the sweater die and the funny reindeer on it. And I do like the quote-may all your sweaters be ugly and bright. Big smile with that quote. What a fun and festive card Aimeslee. Hope your weather has cleared up. It's raining here, dark and dreary. Happy new week. hugs-Erika

It's pretty hard to make an ugly sweater, I suppose, because I do find yours cute!! :-) I really like the thought and effort you put into your backgrounds too, Aimeslee--love the sweater-like patterns there.

What a fun card, makes me laugh because my husband's ugly sweater (that he gets out every year) has a big reindeer on it just like your card! Thanks for playing along with us at the Alphabet Challenge!

One great festive creature adorning your super neat sweater. Perhaps it is just the color, purple that makes it "ugly", otherwise I think I might actually wear it. Thanks for joining us at C4G this round, Aimselee. Cheers, Jolanda - DT
