Hello, happy new week!
I've got a tag and a birthday card for a guy to share today.
Tag Tuesday's theme is Farm Animals, so I made this, using the rooster in Clear Dollar Stamps' Rooster Sunrise clear stamp set. I stamped it with Nocturne VF Clair and heat-embossed with clear powder on Distress stamping card. Then I got out my ancient Distress Markers and colored him up. The sky and the ground were stippled and blended with Distress inks. The image was cut using a Spellbinders die.
I'm linking the tag to Tag Tuesday, Hosted by Michele: Farm Animals.
Then, I put the tag on a card, which I'm also sharing with you:
It's an A2 base of Kraft card stock. I used another sheet of Distress Stamping card and stenciled it for the background using Distress inks and Memory Box Texture Shine stencil.
Then I used one of my new tiny sea sponges to pat gesso all over the stenciling, toning the inense color down a bit. I ran a black marker all around the edge before adhering to the card base.
Here's the Splitcoaststampers sketch I used.
One last look.
Thanks for the visit.
And the back and inside of the card. The stamped sentiments are part of the same Clear Dollar stamp set.
Now, let me explain the inking technique I did called Opalite Smoosh that I learned from Technique Junkies newsletter back in the day.. Opalite is/was an iridescent pigment ink sold by Tsukeneko. Don't know if it still is. The Sizzix gears and circles were cut out of one of the pieces of card the technique was done on. It requires Opalite reinkers, which I still have. You just squeeze out the ink onto your card and "smoosh" it to cover the card with a credit card or the like. It takes a long time to dry because it's a thick pigment ink but then you can stamp a design on it once dry. I stamped a plaid pattern on this sheet. I'd forgotten all about it until finding the sheets I did in my backgrounds envelope. It makes a fabulous metallic for gears, don't you think? I think it looks pretty masculine and the gears are appropriate for a farm. Every tractor has them!
One last look.
Thanks for the visit.
Have a great day!

Aimeslee!!
