Happy Father's Day to all who are celebrating the Dads in your lives!
It's a good thing I made Honey's card early. I'd been planning to also create this mixed media page in my 6x6 Stonehenge Watercolor Journal to display today. And I had trouble finding enough time to do it. I had to resort to just grabbing the first materials and supplies I saw and working with them. It was scary but also fun not to obsessively plan out my make like I usually do. I needed a moustache stamp, yardstick, letter and number stickers, a few stamps to collage with, and some pens, pencils, paints and inks. And brushes.
😊😜😎
I used acrylic paints, Distress Inks and a little gesso to prep the bare page. I next stamped hurriedly and messily with Clear Dollar, Visible Image, Carabelle and Studio Light stamps using Versafine Ink. I added the ruler, label holder and alpha stickers. The heart is a rub on. I stamped a Green Pepper Press gothic half-circle onto tissue paper, fussy cut and collaged on. I got out my General's Sketch & Wash pencil and my Pitt Big Brush pens. I outlined the letters and smudged to get a grungy look. I added the Big Brush ink the same way here and there.
I added the little round numbers and outlined them with a black fine point pen. The numbers have meaning to me. The 3 in the gentleman's eye at right means 3 dads in my immediate life. The 9 on the left side is how many dads there are in our combined families.
Added the date stickers and wrote in the year. And then I forced myself to quit because it looked good to me. Now I can display this every Father's Day.
Thanks for the visit and enjoy your Sunday!

Honoring Dads is positive and affirming. The yardstick or ruler is a good pattern representing progression of numbers, time, etc. Traditional dads are the yardstick by which their children measure life.
This is my non-card entry (entry #5)
I like Father's Day so I can honor the two best Dads ever, my dear husband and my Dad.

It's a fabulous page Aimeslee.
For a quickie page this came out amazing Aimeslee. It looks very well planned. I like the images you stamped and the brown ruler. My Dad used to have one of those folding wooden measuring sticks that was just that color brown. I'm loving the moustache too as well as the letters. Did you outline them-they are fantastic. I'm glad you took the scary route and just went with this page. It's perfect for Matilde's challenge. Thanks for joining us again. I hope it's not too hot (as I saw on the news) and you're having a lovely weekend. Hugs-Erika

I love the thinking with regard to numbers behind this page - very clever on numbers of fathers! There are also the numbers on the rulers so that is even more for the challenge at AJJ.
It's a fabulous page, imagery, colour, and meaning behind the pictures.
