Polka Dot Daisy Birthday Card for Diane

Hello and Happy SUNDAY. Hope everyone is well and has been having a nice weekend. Here on the Texas Gulf Coast, it's 3 days of rain beginning now, with a little cool front and clear skies coming in on Wednesday. That's the current forecast, anyway. An old Texas saying goes, "Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes, it'll change." And my personal favorite: "Only newcomers and damn fools predict Texas weather."
😅😉😎
I have a birthday card to share today using different colors of polka dot designer papers, die cuts and a punch. I stamped the daisies before die cutting them. The stamp/die is a big one so I made this an A9 size card to accommodate it and the flower pot die. This is bit of a different look than my usual eclectica, but I really like it. I'm sharing today because it's my friend Diane Ahler's birthday and this is the card I sent her.
Happy Birthday, Diane!
🎈🎂🎈
Supplies Used:
SU card stock
Very old 12x12 blue, green, yellow and red polka dot designer papers, unknown mfr.
Paper Roses Studio Daisy Bouquet stamp and die set
Spellbinders flower pot, scalloped circle and scalloped rectangle dies
Cheery Lynn scalloped rectangle die (inside)
Hero Arts stamped sentiment (inside)
Promarker to color stems and leaves
Scalloped edge border punch
Hunkydory sentiment dies
Enamel dots
Versafine Clair ink
Embossing ink pen and red tinsel embossing powder

I chose this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my layout design, resizing to A9.
The daisy flowers were stamped with Versafine Clair ink on the yellow polka dot paper and then die cut. The stem and leaves were colored green with a Promarker. I applied embossing ink to the flower centers with an embossing ink pen and then heat-embossed them with tinsel ep. I cut the flower pot with a die out of the red dotted paper and cut the green dotted paper with a scalloped circle die and cut in half. I covered those with a strip of the blue dotted paper edged with a border punch. I embellished with 3 enamel dots to finish the card front.
Inside of the card. The red paper was cut with dies, as was the sentiment mat. A Hero arts sentiment was stamped on it.
A view of the back of the card along the front for continuity. When I edited this photo in PSE, I played around with using a brush. Very rudimentary frame for first time, but was fun playing.
A close-up of the heat-embossed flower centers. It's really hard to see the tiny white polka dots on that yellow paper, but they are there!
And a final view. I love how bright and cheerful this look is with the polka dots and daisies.
🌼
Well, that's it for me today.
Here's to a good week ahead for all. If you are like me and playing the Christmas Countdown Game, lol, this is make-it-or-break-it week, so I need to get and somehow keep my butt in high gear, no matter how much it hurts!
😬
Thanks for visiting!

That's such a happy card. I hope Diane likes it. I remember those Cheery Lynn dies. It's too bad so many companies have gone under, isn't it? Happy new week. hugs-Erika

What a sunny happy card Aimes, it's beautiful. Love the pretty details you added to make it extra special.
Christmas shopping finished! Just a couple of pieces to pack now and cards posted, just hand-delivered to be done. I don't think I've ever been so organised!
As for the weather, we had -7C (19f) last night and it barely got above 0f today, at least we don't have snow as the most of the UK has. Our weather changes so fast, it's the first talking point when people meet!hahaha
Keep warm and dry and tell that Arfur to go off!
Hugs

Beautiful card Aimeslee. I love the cheery colors you used for Diane's card. Sounds like you're getting the weather we just had here in California. That wind was wild though.

Thank you so much for this card! It came yesterday. I have been having quite a hard time lately and it definitely brightened my day. I love the bright colors. I'm going to kep it on my craft desk to cheer me up when I look at it. So pretty! I should be getting my Christmas cards mailed today. I printed the wrong postage for most of them so I had to go back and double up on the stamps. Grrr. I didn't realize that the non-machineable fee went up nine cents. I'm debating if I want my tree up this year. It's so much work. I think I mat skip a year. My daughter is fifteen minutes away and she has a huge tree. That should cover it. I hope you are doing well.
