Sharing a birthday guy card today for a friend whose favorite color is orange.
Papers: Springhill and SU card stocks, Junkitz patterned papers, vellum, junk mail
Stamps: My Favorite Things, Avery Elle, My Sentiments Exactly, Cas-ual Fridays
Inks: Memento, Versafine Clair, Versa Magic
Dies: My Favorite Things
Other / Stash Items: Eyelet Outlet musical note brads, washi tapes, enamel dots, edge distressing tool, circle punches, corner rounder
I used week before last's Slimline sketch at Split Coast Stampers. I resized it to 4x9.25" and then rotated it in PSE.
I've really been getting some good use from this old Junkitz paper collection. I liked how the design I used reminded me of the turntable. I cut a rectangle of vellum, rounded the corners and then inked the edges with some Memento Morocco ink, ran that through my Xyron and adhered to the card as my see-through turntable. I also punch 3 different sized circles out of vellum to adhere behnd the note brads.
I must confess, I've had these stamps and die cuts for a while but have been turned off by the mechanix of assembly. I had to just bite the bullet and jump in to use it and I must say, my hesitation was silly. Very easy to cut and assemble. Hardest part was cutting different papers and finding all the little parts. I used a piece of black glossy junk mail cardboard that I had saved in my Glossy card box. It makes a nice die cut "vinyl" record. That white band in the center where the info is usually printed was stumping me until I remembered I had a Celebrate circle stamp about that size. Perfect! I used some scrap silver gray card to die cut the arm.
Love the piano keys washi paired with the skinny Halloween washi. The colors matched so hey, who cares, I won't tell! lol I tried stamping my sentiments directly on the patterned paper this time and I like the effect! The back of the card is pretty straightforward and simple, just a stamped MFT siggie on a piece of the Junkitz.
On the inside I stamped Cas-ual Friday birthday sentiments and keep that simple as well.
And a final view. I am glad I bought this die along with sentiments, plus 2 other stamp brand versions of this record / player. I am set up well for this theme, lol. Hope you are well, and thanks for visiting! XOX

I'm so glad you bit the bullet, Aimslee, and your recipient will be, too! This is a card to be treasured! I give you huge kudos for coming up with all those many clever bits! Great idea to do a vellum turntable and to use your circle punch for the label! Thank you so much for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell
Wow, what a great card! I always love all the little details. I didn't realize that you could attach vellum with the Xyron. I just bought a tape roll designed for vellum, but I haven't tried it yet. I got a Xyron a while ago when Uncle Sam donated to my craft fund.
Perfection!! Great masculine card!! That paper is amazing!! Thanks for playing along with our "adult guy birthday" challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz!!
Very unique, and it looks wonderful as a slimline. In fact, it was like the slimline was developed just for you. The turn table is unique. Great work Aimes. Hugs, Bethie

Super cute card that is a keepsake in itself! Love, love, love that turntable - have seen others used recently so I might have to do a little search and add to my die stash! ;) AND I love that you and I are both slimline rebels and make our own sizes! I love my cards to fit my envelopes! Bahahaha! Thanks for sharing this awesome card!

Aimeslee thank you for your beautiful comment about my penguin card. I didn't know I had won at the Outlawz so that was a lovely surprise :)
Your card is so cool, love the retro feel to it. It is weird how the slimline cards are back in fashion again as they were really popular when I first started card making many moons ago. Just goes to show anything can come back in fashion if you keep it long enough LOL
Love Mandy xxx
