Butterfly Tag and Sympathy Card

Greetings! I hope you are all well and still sane. We are good. Today I have a tag to share with you that I then put on a card. First, the tag, which I made especially for Tag Tuesday:

I love this Star Stampz digi. It's called Maiko in Spring. I printed it out on white Springhill card stock, cut it with an Elizabeth Crafts tag die and colored with ProMarkers. And I actually attempted some shading {GASP} :-) I forgot to take the pic before I'd stamped the Pink By Design sentiment at the bottom, but oh well.

I used DCWV's 4..5 x 6.5-inch Far East Mat Stack papers on a grey SU card stock base. After adhering the tag to the card front, I assembled a little pink flower mound with a few tiny butterfly die cuts. More tiny butterflies adorn the side in place of the sketch's dot embellies. I just had the urge to flower the umbrella, and I like it. I added a Skipping Stones sentiment sideways on the long side strip that I thought went perfectly with the butterflies.

I followed Stick It Down's March sketch, making an A2 size card. I thought the tag shape fit the sketch's parentheses pretty well.

I am trying to build an inventory of sympathy cards and have decided to leave them blank inside until I know who it's going to. I perused my stamps and thought of the Maiko digi. I know it might seem weird to use an Asian theme, but I find this a calming and peaceful image, as is most Asian images. I think it works! And that patterned paper is of butterflies but it's hazy like a dream or the sky, and it makes it a bit ethereal. I was nervous about choosing the colors for the image but I am very happy with it.

Thanks for dropping by. As always, I appreciate each and every comment. Please, everyone, take care of yourselves -- body, mind and soul. These are trying times, definitely the scariest of my lifetime. I'm praying we all get through it safely. Virtual Hugs to All! XXO

CHALLENGES:
1.   Tag Tuesday: Bunnies & Butterflies -- I have butterflies.
2.   Stick It Down March Sketch -- Sketch shown above
3.   Star Stampz Challenge #8: Bingo / Tic-Tac-Toe -- I chose diagonal top left to bottom right. I have a sentiment, a Star Stampz digi Maiko in Spring and flowers.
4.   TTTC056 - Featured Designer LeAnne -- I chose middle column (I used blue, an umbrella and designer paper).
5.   Use Your Stuff #394: Spring
6.   Double D Challenge: Welcome Spring
7.   Colour Crazy Week 10: AG with Colouring -- I used ProMarkers to color the tag image.
8.   Cut It Up #196: Spring Fever with Butterflies -- I used a die cut tag and 8 butterflies
9.   Aud Sentiments #247: Sentiment + Spring / Easter -- I went with Spring
10. Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes 3/22-4/4: Spring

LOL Your little borders look interesting with the words on one portion, and the darling little black butterflies in the other. Beautiful card, Miss Aimes! hugs, de

Very nice work, Aimes. Your tag is beautiful. You could easily make this an ATC. I always enjoy seeing your work, so keep it coming.

I agree with you, this is a calming image. Your colours you chose are perfect.

Toilet paper has been out-of-stock in my City for three weeks because people keep hoarding. I took a peak in the store today to find no stocked shelves, but a clerk had a box full to TP she was going to place on the shelf. I didn't care that it was $20. I didn't care that it wouldn't fit in my old style in-wall toilet paper mount--it was MINE.

All grocery stores have lines distancing patrons a "hockey stick" length away from one another. This is good social isolation.

Today, our provincial government announced that everything but essential services and business will be closed as of 11 pm tonight, for a two weeks, or more. There is a list of what is considered essential and pretty well it includes everything. No more take out, no more stores, etc. At least pharmacies and grocery stores will be open. Grocery stores are open 7-8am for the elderly to shop before the crowds run them over during regular business hours. This is also because they are more suseptible to catching the Virus.

Stay healthy my friend. Bethie.

This is such a pretty and calming image - one that is coloured perfectly. You set it on a background that is neutral in nature and it really brings out the depth and interest in the image without being overwhelming. Great job!
