Boo to You

Ghostly Greetings! Honey and I have really been dragging this week. Our mutual allergies to rag weed and to cedar have us suffering. We take effective medications but we are still not feeling up to par. Honey calls it the Blahs. So the card I'm sharing today took much longer to finish than it should have. I won't tell you how many times I told myself to get back in there and work but then got sidetracked. My focus has been AWOL.

Between the silver metal frames, silver stickers and the silver embossing powder I used, this card was a challenge to photograph! So, please excuse -- things may not appear as they really are. Spooooky! lol

I used both the inspiration of the black pumpkins and the current TSOT sketch. I chose to make it monochrome black to fit a couple of challenges. Silver was my accent color and ghosts have to be white. I mean, just sayin'. ;-)

SUPPLIES:
Paper:  Bazzill black textured shimmery cs; Neenah index stock, American Crafts Spooky Boo patterned papers
Stamps: Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card Spider Web, Making Memories and Pink By Design inside sentiments, Leave Memories siggie stamp
Inks: VersaMark, VersaFine Clair
Dies: Quickutz Squeeze Bats and Ghost, Clear Dollar Tabs and Tags siggie label
Other: JoAnn's silver metal frames, EKS Sticko silver alpha stickers, silver embossing powder

My personal inspiration for making this card was that I had these 3 silver frames I needed/wanted to use and when I saw the sketch, it was on like donkey kong, lol. The base mat was stamped with VersaMark and then silver-heat-embossed. The adorable ghosts and bats were die cut using my old trusty Quickutz Blue Squeeze. Hey, it won't quit working. Actually, I have many little shapes and alphabet fonts for the Squeeze that I do still use.

I cannot even remember how I ended up with these 3 silver metal frames -- maybe they were RAK'd to me. I have trouble visualizing what they would be used for, they are so small. So I am happy to have used them finally. I like pairing silver up with black. For Halloween, I think it works especially well. If I'd had some silver paper, I might have used it for the ghosts. I do have mirror card, but that would have caused blindness to look at it, haha. Wonder how deli paper ghosts would look? I'll have to try that sometime.

Since I used black card stock for my card base, I needed something lighter to stamp sentiments on, so I pulled this tiny black cat face patterned paper from American Crafts.
On the back of the card, I used more of the American Crafts papers along with my siggie stamp.

Pretty decent card for trying to use older than dirt embellishments. Once I was finally able to focus, I enjoyed creating it. We are supposed to be getting another cool front this weekend and we are hoping some of the allergens will get blown out of here. Tired of Blah!
