Sit Back and Relax

Hi there, I'm popping in to share a quick retirement card I made for one of my girlfriends who is retiring after 40 years at the same company. It's still raining here, but we are not letting it dampen our plans to go eat some seafood for lunch later today!

This is an A2-sized card and I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's Summer Love and Avery Elle's Everyday collections on an SU card base.

Stamplorations' current June sketch was followed, but I opted not to follow their birthday theme this time... just the sketch.

I used a Stamplorations Beach Therapy stamp for my focal image and Pink By Design's Retirement set sentiments. All was stamped with Nocturne and Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair ink and clear-heat-embossed. I colored my little beach scene with my ProMarkers and mounted it on a mat 1/4" larger. I rounded all corners per the sketch and inked the outer edge. When I stamped my umbrella/chair onto my card stock, I also stamped the umbrella again on another piece, preparing it the same way. Then I fussy cut out the umbrella and popped it a bit onto the image. That way, I could preserve my little rectangle element shape per the sketch.

My card inside used stamps by Avery Elle and Pink By Design, stamped with regular VersaFine Majestic Blue.

The back of my card was decorated with the leftover snippet scraps from making the front of my card. I stamped a Papertrey Ink siggie with VersaFine Clair Warm Breeze ink.

And one final view. I very much liked how this card came out. I love the sun rays and the V-shaped stripes together, plus the colorful beach chair and umbrella. I think I have used all the colors of the rainbow~!

CHALLENGES:
1.  Stamplorations June Theme & Sketch -  I played only the sketch, shown above.
2.  Double D Challenges: Pick a Pattern - I have combined Sunray stripes with V-stripes.
3.  PaperBabe Stamps Challenge #96: Spots and/or Stripes - I used stripes.
4.  Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes: Summer Holiday - Find inspiration in the song or rhyme Summer Holiday - by Cliff Richard
We're all going on a summer holiday
No more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday,
No more worries for me or you,
For a week or two.
We're going where the sun shines brightly
We're going where the sea is blue.
We've all seen it on the movies,
Now let's see if it's true.
5.  Colour Crazy Week 24: AG with Colouring - I used my ProMarker on my focal image.
6.  Rainbow Card Challenge #6: Neon Rainbow
7.  Stamping Sensations June Challenge: Show Your True Colours
8.  LTSCB # 122: AG + Opt. No Rulz3
9.  TTCRD For Jun 25: AG Always

I thank you for stopping by to visit and I hope you liked my card today.

Good Sunday and week ahead! Until next time, xoxox
