Those Sketchy Stripes Made Me Do It!

Hello again for today! My second Sunday post, because when we got home from our wonderful outing, I began tidying and putting away my supplies. And when I put away my Cosmo Cricket paper snippets, I spied another V-striped sheet and envisioned a birthday guy card using it and a Stamplorations car stamp I have. So of course I stopped and made the card, LOL!

Once again I used Stamplorations' sketch for June and this time I am also playing the Birthdays theme! I have used SU card stock for my 5x7" card base and mats, and the patterned paper is all from Cosmo Cricket's Summer Love collection.

I decided on a monochrome black and off-white color scheme, and I thought it would look more striking that way. I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink throughout and clear-heat-embossed all stamping. The front features stamps by Stamplorations: the car and the sentiments.

I used my Cropadile corner chomper to round off my rectangle element and its black mat.

Inside my card, I used sentiments made by Clear Dollar and by Stamplorations.

On the back side, the v-striped piece of paper I had leftover from cutting the front was turned sideways and matted. I added a black card stock strip across the center and an Impression Obsession siggie stamp.

I really like the way this came out. Yes, I could have colored the car and the word Birthday (and it was hard not to!), but I thought the words and the car image were strong enough to stand on their own. Sometimes less is more.

CHALLENGES:
1.  Stamplorations June Birthday Theme & Sketch Challenge - I have played both the theme and sketch, shown above.
2.  Moving Along With the Times #100: CAS Card

Oh, almost forgot! Here is a photo of my fried shrimp seafood dinner. It was soooo good!

Thank you for visiting me and I promise no more posts today. However....Tomorrow, July 1st, I will be posting at 10 a.m. CDT and I sure hope you will check my post out because I'm guest designing for Paper Girls Challenge blog and that is when their next challenge will go live, so please come see and join in on the fun!
