Gratitude is the Memory of the Heart

Hello again, hope everyone has had a good Hump Day. I'm beginning to feel better. I had to take a 4-day heavily-dosed round of prednisone for my arthritis inflammation that ended on Saturday, but I learned all about prednisone withdrawal on Mother's Day afternoon. I had maybe my worst gallbladder attack lasting 6 hours in waves. Then on Monday let's just say I was in the bathroom a lot. I also had trouble staying awake despite 12 hours sleep. But today was a good day with energy and I feel almost normal again!

So I made another Thank You card. I used this sketch from Split Coast Stampers.

The focal image is a very old rubber stamp from Queen of Tarts.  I used Spellbinders' A2 Distressed Edges to die cut it, as well as my mats and my siggie elements on the back. The quote stamp is See-D's, also very old, but it is one of my favorite sentiments.

I used Memory Box Echo collection patterned paper, which has my favorite cool colors of purples, blues and greens..

I colored my focal image with a combination of Promarkers and Ranger Archival inks. Finding the right colors was not a problem for me with the Promarkers, but I had to make this quick chart of the Archival colors I thought would work. I added some Wink of Stella to her headdress for a little glittery shimmer as a final touch. Here are some close-ups and a final view:

I'm so sorry you haven't been well and hope today is a MUCH better day. I sympathise, especially with a current dose of particularly painful sciatica, lol... I think some of us are ready for the 'knacker's yard' :-(
This is a beautiful card. I love the shade of blue you used - it looks like my all time favourite cornflower blue - works really well against the paper you chose. I also love the image you used. I thought I recognised her, but don't recognise 'Queen of Tarts' at all...maybe someone else produced it, too.
Thank you so much for sharing your art with us at Try it on Tuesday. Have a great day :-)

I feel SO sorry for you, my dear. You and I have a similar condition. We both have arthritis. Mine, however is a rare form I was born with. Having had this condition since birth, I know how debilitating it can be. I don't take any medication, though, since there is nothing they can do for me. I was born without any cartilage around my joints, so there is no excess to break up. I feel for you and the suffering you went through over the weekend and beginning of the week.

Houston has had its share of rain this year, hasn't it? You've had storms two years in a row in spring that were devastating. Please stay safe and DRY!

You certainly have two very wonderful tools in your wheelhouse I don't have: stamping and coloring. You colored that image beautifully. You are a master with those Promarkers. This is an incredible card. Most impressive.

Such a lovey project, Aimeslee! The colors are marvelous. There is something about her eyes that remind me of you - very soulful, pleasant, and caring. Thanks for photographing all the angles to showcase each color and texture. I'm sorry to hear you had to resort to prednisone, and then that you suffered withdrawal from it. I had to have my gallbladder removed because it wasn't functioning properly (autoimmune condition), but the surgeon said it looked perfectly healthy! My body simply was not responding to it, and was causing other problems. I'm sorry you are having to go through that, as well. Please take care of yourself! hugs, de
