Springy One-Layer Sketch Card

Sunday greetings, blogging friends! I woke up feeling absolutely horrid, looks like my gall bladder is acting up again, so I set about making a card to busy myself. I have 3 family/friend birthdays coming up next weekend, so it's now or never. Only one to be mailed off, so that's the one I made, for my cousin in Alabama.

Me and CAS cards = love/hate relationship. Today I wanted to take one on for some reason, and the Atlantic Hearts sketch 310 looked like a great fit. When I saw Happy Little Stampers' CAS challenge of a one-layer card, and Brown Sugar's challenge for Spring or Fall, I was in!
SUPPLIES:
White card stock card base already cut and scored (I think it is Neenah Solar White stamping card stock, but not sure)
Patterned Papers for inside and back: very old Junkitz Flowerful
Spellbinders Dies for inside and back
Distress Stickles Picket Fence, Sequins, Sakura Clear and Gold Sparkly gel pens, and detailed brushes for painting with ink
Inks: Memento Pear Tart and Teal Zeal
Stamps: Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves Stampology, Hero Arts, See-D's

I first masked off the 1.25" center horizontal section and stamped the blossom stamp top left and bottom right. When I did, because it was a clear stamp, the ink was mottled on the blossom. So I smooshed some of the Teal ink on a craft mat and painted the blossoms to look opaque. I also painted some Pear Tart ink on the blossom stamps, but purposefully chose not to color everything.

After giving the card front time to dry, I removed the mask and stamped the borders. Then I stamped the sentiment.

Having failed to screw up the card yet, I decided to add some metallic gold to the images. I also covered the dots and the blossom's crown with clear gel pen glaze. Just for grins, I added some metallic to the dotted i dot on the sentiment. Lastly, as the instructions for the one layer CAS card did say minimal embellishments, I added two 2-layer sequins and dotted the centers with some Distress Stickles Picket Fence.

I simply couldn't resist adding patterned paper to my card's back and inside. I had a really hard time finding something to stamp with this sketch, so I'm happy with what I used. I also love the color combo and feel lucky I found complementary paper.

CHALLENGES:
7. TMTA&More: Anything Goes (Show Dani what we have - I'm doing a CAS one-layer card whicb is challenging for me.)

I do hope my cousin enjoys her card and that you enjoyed checking it out. Til next time, Happy Crafting! xoxo
