Round and Round in the Circle Game

Happy Wednesday! Joni Mitchell's lyrics work well for my card share today.

I made my first round card! And, I did not follow any instructions. Instead, I intuitively figured out my structure. It's probably weird, but I understand it this way and to my amazement, it worked, haha.

The stamp I used for my focal point is a very old mounted one by Inkadinkado. Since I've recently used a few of my mounted stamps, I'd forgotten just how good it felt to stamp and what even coverage you get. I've been using Memento inks, too, and they wash off the rubber easily by just stamping onto a damp paper towel repeatedly. No scrubbing.

I had to plot out which circle die cuts to use and I used a combination of Spellbinders plain circle Nesties and Little B Scalloped Nesties. I grabbed my gold and blue Sakura and Fiskars gel pens and a Powder Blue Promarker and colored my stamped image.

Here's a side view. I cut two of the largest scalloped circles and then with a plain Spellbinders circle a bit smaller, I did that trick where you fold the card stock, position your die on it where one edge hangs out a bit so that you cut a folded card. Then I adhered my scalloped dies onto the front and back of the folded card.

Here you can see the construction better. I had to cut off the top of the scalloped back so the card could open, and it was amazing, like MAGIC, it kind of locks into place when open all the way! I did not even know that was gonna happen. Dodged a bullet there and thanking my lucky stars! The inside sentiment is from a set by Stamplorations.

I've been trying to use more of a variety of my siggie stamps so on the back I used this one. I'm not really used to such a CAS look (it looks so bare to me!!!), so I added a little See-D's bow stamp.

I am well aware this is NOTHING compared to the many gorgeous and intricate beauties that a lot of card making geniuses have been designing, but for me, it was a departure from my norm and scary but fun. And I'm proud I figured it out on my own. And got everything glued on straight without having to pull up anything, lol, like I've had to 3 times in the last month. Plus, I learned something about my Fiskars gel pens. I've had them for several years and whenever I've used them they would never dry like the Sakuras do. But I love the way the Fiskars ink flows out better. Well, this time I heat-embossed them and problem solved! They just needed some help to dry.

I'm sharing this card in the following challenges:

I used gel pens and alcohol marker to color my image.

I chose S is for SNOW.

Thank you for visiting and allowing me to share my art with you.
Until next time, xoxo
