Valentine Trio

Happy Weekend, my fellow Artsters-In-Crime! I have been submerged in a paper and glue card submarine for most of the week, and I have never been happier. I love designing a card by challenging myself to use up my leftover bits n bobs (and then bonus points for it fitting a blog challenge). It's gotten so habit-forming that this is what I do most of the time now. It feels foreign to break into a new paper collection or -gasp- cut into a pristine 12x12 sheet! haha Geez

Valentine cards are the current order so my New Year Affirmation and greeting cards will be waiting for me to return to. I made several cards this year to send to my precious girlfriends. This one goes to my oldest BFF. She starred in a college production of Bus Stop back in the day, so when I spied Gecko Galz's Retro Love Story collage sheet with an illustration from that 1956 movie starring Marilyn Monroe, I began brainstorming an idea for a very unique and personalized card for her.

What you see above is  a Moo on an ATC on a card. I've entered the Moo in the Gecko Galz Make a Moo Facebook Challenge but I had to use it somehow (because that's just how I roll -- Form without Function is just Fluff). Had the same dilemma with the red herringbone weave ATC I made earlier in the week. Well, Viola! I found a piece of red patterned card stock already cut in the A2 shape so I used my lips stamps to make a repeating background and then made the base and the white doily shabby with Tea Dye Distress ink. Rooting around in my alpha stickers, I found some nice round ones for the sentiment. Also, that scrap strip of red ribbon was just laying around, so it went on, too.

I did my usual PSE computer-generated inside sentiment, this time a poem I wrote. I added another image from the Gecko Galz Retro Love Story collage sheet on the left side, along with a Chatterbox word sticker from my stash. I distressed the paper with more of the Tea Dye ink.

And here is the back. This time I added an old Creative Imaginations Narratives phrase sticker.

 Here is the Moo itself.
And here is my new Moo Tool aka The Official Moo-Finder, haha. Hey, it helps me spot an attractive Moo opportunity. Don't know if/when I'll create another one but I'm ready if/when I do. I probably will, checking out this Moo Mania Pinterest Board convinced me how cool they are!

The second card features an image from the Gecko Galz Valentine Wishes collage sheet. I combined some old Rusty Pickle patterned paper with white Victorian border scrap and 2 doilies. On this card, I did not include any inside images, just a stamped sentiment. The back of the card has only a Handmade By stamp (the same goes for the 3rd card), as I was getting pressed for time to mail these out. So I am just sharing the fronts of these.

For some reason, I love this little card, I think for the image but also the old stash bits. Remember those felt scrapbooking borders that were all the rage several years ago? Yup, still trying to use mine up, that's the pink felt flower border placed vertically behind my elements. Hard to adhere, so after trying a white card stock piece and scor-tape, I raided my candy heart brads for some extra hold. A round paper doily anchors the Gecko Galz Valentine Wishes collage sheet image, upon which I've stamped You Warm My Heart.

I am linking this last card to Frilly and Funkie's All You Need is LOVE! Challenge - the green candy heart brad says Luv Ya.

I am linking up ALL 3 greeting cards to the following challenges as entries:
