January 19th Weekly Post

 Happy Sunday!
It seems that this weekend and coming week will be one for the iceman to cometh over here in the continental USA. Looks like an even mightier Polar Vortex "lobe" (or Arctic leak) is blanketing the nation. EVEN US!
😱
This is a screenshot of my weather app. Yes, I realize how lame it looks compared to the forecast in MN, ND and SD of possible 50 below zero (WUT??????).
But please direct your eyes to Tuesday.
Can it Be???
We are getting SNOW???
I saw that and immediately went into Snow Frenzy Mode, which is quite similar to my Hurricane Frenzy Mode.
It's frankly difficult to think of anything else and at the same time trying not to think of it for fear of jinxing it.
They're saying 1-3 inches.
I'll let you know next time how it came down.
And pictures, if it did.

The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is Doorway, hosted by Michele.
I opted to do a 4x6 digital piece to be printed out for my album at a later date.
The quote by T.S Eliot is actually one I have a stamp for, but adding it digitally was far easier.
The background is a very cool and grungy digital freebie from Cemerony.
I gave it a black outline and typed the sentiment in white.
Hopefully, you can see the curtained doorway and red door half opened.

I used my Craft Consortium Sandy Paws 3D Decoupage kit again to make this card for a sister-in-law.
The card base is Recollections, as is the vertical banner flags and the I/O die cut sentiment cut twice and layered. The patterned paper is by Colorbok, the red card is Cardstock Warehouse, and the Sandy Paws focal image is 3D decoupaged.
Here's the Splitcoaststampers sketch I used.
I didn't make the patterned paper layer as large because I was working with a scrap.
*******************

Here's a birthday card made for a girlfriend who lives on a farm in Central Texas.
I used the Docrafts' Papermania Country Life kit again, this time choosing a goose theme.
I found various word stamps in my stash to create the sentiment with Bluebell Versafine Clair ink.
An SU card base and DCWV Summer Stack striped paper to complement the kit's elements (the largest rectangle showing the egg table is 3D decoupaged).
And the Splitcoaststampers sketch used.
I put the circle element 4 on top layer, because frankly it looked better that way and these were the 3 geese which were honking, lol.
*******************

Well, that does it for me this time.
Thanks very much for taking the time to visit and may we all stay warm and creative this week.
Hope to see you again next Sunday!

I know exactly what you mean by so much "stuff". I reached a point where I couldn't remember all that I had or where something was when I wanted it. And of course, every now and again it's fun to buy something new. Grin. So don't feel bad about your stuff, I'm still in the same boat. And my husband says the same thing to me, but he has the outbuilding filled with very expensive tools so I always remind him that at least a rubber stamp didn''t cost $500. Grin. Now I just need to remember where I sorted things and put them. Grin. And good luck with your snow. We got about 7 inches last night which just means more work to clean it, and thank goodness we have a woodstove because and it heats us up nicely, but those poor folk relying on just heat, which is sooooo expensive. My heart goes out to them.

I'm loving this week's abstract-ish postcard, and your beach card looks so nice and warm. Well the days here are already getting a bit longer so it's coming-but not for a while. And honk honk is adorable. Stay warm and I hope your winter weather comes and goes in a blink of an eye. hugs-Erika

Aimeslee, I too like your circle-on-top layout better, and the geese are so funny, lol... Your postcard art is amazing, you've chosen the perfect image and quote for it! The heat has reduced just barely for us, but it does look like our other relatives elsewhere in India are dealing with pretty low temperatures too. If you folks do get snow, stay warm and cozy!! Take care. Anita xx

A fabulous selection of card, colourful, grungy and fun, love them. We are due a freeze, not sure how low, but I'm ready for some warming sun, instead of all the clouds we've been having. Take care, hope all is well with you. x

Love that honky goose card - great idea! The snow will pass... or you could come and visit here where we have lots of it and very cold temperatures :)

I hope you're staying warm over there and not having to "deal with" too much snow! It's such a weird weather pattern for sure! Lots of layers is always my motto! Wonderful creations this week! I'm especially drawn to the best day ever card! Fabulous take on the sketch and I love that image! I would like to be there right now! LOL I know what you mean about using your "stuff"! I think it's on everyone's mind this year! Hopefully I'll make a dent and stop buying! Have a lovely week my friend!

i enlarged your doorway art to get a better look and it is stunning. the red is fabulous! no snow yet in seattle but we are similarly chilly over here, in the low 30s at night and getting to low 40s midday. not as extreme as many but plenty cold for us! xo
