January 19th Weekly Post

 Happy Sunday!
It seems that this weekend and coming week will be one for the iceman to cometh over here in the continental USA. Looks like an even mightier Polar Vortex "lobe" (or Arctic leak) is blanketing the nation. EVEN US!
😱
This is a screenshot of my weather app. Yes, I realize how lame it looks compared to the forecast in MN, ND and SD of possible 50 below zero (WUT??????).
But please direct your eyes to Tuesday.
Can it Be???
We are getting SNOW???
I saw that and immediately went into Snow Frenzy Mode, which is quite similar to my Hurricane Frenzy Mode.
It's frankly difficult to think of anything else and at the same time trying not to think of it for fear of jinxing it.
They're saying 1-3 inches.
I'll let you know next time how it came down.
And pictures, if it did.

The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is Doorway, hosted by Michele.
I opted to do a 4x6 digital piece to be printed out for my album at a later date.
The quote by T.S Eliot is actually one I have a stamp for, but adding it digitally was far easier.
The background is a very cool and grungy digital freebie from Cemerony.
I gave it a black outline and typed the sentiment in white.
Hopefully, you can see the curtained doorway and red door half opened.

I used my Craft Consortium Sandy Paws 3D Decoupage kit again to make this card for a sister-in-law.
The card base is Recollections, as is the vertical banner flags and the I/O die cut sentiment cut twice and layered. The patterned paper is by Colorbok, the red card is Cardstock Warehouse, and the Sandy Paws focal image is 3D decoupaged.
Here's the Splitcoaststampers sketch I used.
I didn't make the patterned paper layer as large because I was working with a scrap.

Here's a birthday card made for a girlfriend who lives on a farm in Central Texas.
I used the Docrafts' Papermania Country Life kit again, this time choosing a goose theme.
I found various word stamps in my stash to create the sentiment with Bluebell Versafine Clair ink.
An SU card base and DCWV Summer Stack striped paper to complement the kit's elements (the largest rectangle showing the egg table is 3D decoupaged).
And the Splitcoaststampers sketch used.
I put the circle element 4 on top layer, because frankly it looked better that way and these were the 3 geese which were honking, lol.

Well, that does it for me this time.
Thanks very much for taking the time to visit and may we all stay warm and creative this week.
Hope to see you again next Sunday!
