Wild West Vacay Travel Tag

Hey there, hope everyone is doing well.
We've been doing well. It was windy with some rain yesterday and today was a lot of rain and some wind. But nowhere near as bad as they forecast, thankfully. It's actually been nice to feel those winds. Makes it feel just a bit cooler.
We are hoping it stays this way, but it won't.
Then we can worry about the next one all over again, lol.
This is another tag for my Stamping Bellas/My Favorite Things first release stamps tag collection I've been making, either to hang on a tag tree or sit in a box (similar to a rolodex box without the holes). I'll decide which once I make them all. As I wrote before, I have 11 stick figure Bellas stamps and 7 headless people MFT stamps. I believe they were the first releases for both companies and both are really so strange they are interesting again...after 15-20 years. Anyway, thought it would be a good way to use them all to eventually make 18 tags and that meets my current quest to use my old stuff that I haven't yet, er, um, gotten around to using.
๐Ÿ™„
Here I've used Stamping Bellas' Giddyupabella who comes with the horse as one stamp.
Since I wanted to follow a travel theme, my imagination quickly went to a American wild west vacay, like to a dude ranch or even maybe "pretend you're a character in Yellowstone" experience. Or as the cool kids call it, Cosplay.
They really should have something like that, right?
๐Ÿ˜€
I began with a piece of heavyweight white Recollections card and cut it with a stitched notched rectangle die.
Next, I stamped the bella/horse on the card and also stamped a mask, which I fussy cut and applied.
Then, I die cut mask for the clouds and applied.
Then, I stamped the ground with an Our Craft Lounge stamp.
Next, I drew the hilly ground behind the bella and colored it in with colored pencils.
I traced the top of the hill onto tracing paper and cut it to make a non-adhesive mask that I held in place while I stipplied the sky with Speckled Egg Distress Ink.
Then I removed all the masks and colored bella and horse with colored pencils. I also used pencils along with markers on the ground.
At the top I stamped The Paper Studio's Wild West stamp with Acorn VF Clair Ink.
I colored it with an orange pencil.
Then I outlined the clouds with a grey pencil.
I colored a scrap of white card orange and then die cut the word vacation from it using one of Tim's Word Script dies.
I cut a tag hole and used gold, red and orange glitter gel pens to add accents here and there.
I outlined some of the stamped lines with my handy Carbon Fountain desk pen.
Finally, I ran a brown marker all around the tag's edge.
And done!
Thanks for the visit and enjoy the rest of your week.

Goodness Aimes, has it really been that long since Stamping Bella released those stick figure stamps?? I've got some around here somewhere. Those were the early days of unmounted stamping too. I'm glad the storm didn't hit you as hard as forecast.

What a wonderful creation. Good for you using such old stuff. A great scene, and colouring. When you mentioned Wild West Vacations, I immediately thought of Yul Brynner in West World. Maybe I'll take a pass on that kind of holiday, hahahaha. I hope you're all safe now and the storms have passed. I also hope you haven't sent them across the Atlantic? Take care Aimes. x

Your tag is wonderfully detailed and imaginative! The theme of a wild west vacation with Giddyupabella is so creative, especially with the addition of the stitched notched rectangle die and the carefully crafted masks for clouds and ground. The use of colored pencils and markers brings out the vibrant colors beautifully, while the accents with glitter gel pens add a touch of sparkle. It's a truly unique and charming piece that captures the adventurous spirit of your theme perfectly!

I like this theme you have going with this post and the latest card post. I also lThis is a great tag, and I wouldn't mind a western vacation right now. Glad your weather is nice. This weekend has been a wash out, and later today we could get some severe storms. Even a tornado-possibly. They say NH averages a tornado once a year, and last years went by daughter's house and did some damage to her yard furniture, but luckily not to her house. Of course we know what averages means, and the weather certainly hasn't been average for awhile now. This has been another wet June here. But sun tomorrow they say. Have a super rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika
