Czech Mate Valentine

Hiya, me yet again, hope everyone is okay.
I'm back with the LAST of 3 posts today.
Sometimes I get into creating and forget to post.
So, I'm catching up with that.

This is Honey's Valentine card.
He's half full-blooded Czech, hence the pun on Check Mate.
😁
SUPPLIES USED:
Kraft card stock
Springhill Digital card stock
Wausau Rocket Red paper
TH Seasonal Collage paper
Pixel Elites Etsy digital chess board image
Stamplorations 'you & me' sentiment
Nocturne Versafine Clair ink
Distress inks for ink blending
Memory Box Mini Checkmate dies
Cheery Lynn Sweetheart Candy dies
Clear Dollar Tabs and Tags dies
QuicKutz Studio Alphas dies
Spellbinders Labels 4 die
Heart punch

I used this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my A7 layout design.

The second that I thought of the Czech Mate play on words, I was all in to make this.
LOL I'm such a sucker for humor.
I decided to use the diagonal lines on the sketch as a shelf for the other chess pieces, as King Honey and Queen Aimeslee have the floor, er um, board. A little weird, I know, but hey, I just went with it.

Here are the Distress inks I used to ink-blend the lefthand panel on front that was cut from white card with a Spellbinders Labels 5 die.

The back features the rest of the sheet of designer paper used on the front, along with the red paper and a snip of leftover kraft card.

Last look.
Thanks so much for your visit today.
Enjoy your day.

How clever with your personalized pun for your honey's V card!!! I enjoy doing that for my husband too. He loves to joke with everyone--nurses, doctors, cashiers, waitresses, anyone! -so a funny punny card works for him. As always you've packed a lot of layers and details into your project! Thanks x 2 for sharing at Ally's Angels and also for Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love! Appreciatively, Becca

This is some great paper and pairs perfectly with the chess theme too. My son recently started playing chess so I need to start thinking about some chess cards for him as he is really good at it. I am sure your DH will love the fun pun too.
