This Week's 4X6 Art

Happy Tuesday to all.
I will have scheduled posts through Christmas Eve as we are having our kids here for the weekend, and Xfinity decided to be thoughtless as all get out and scheduled my neighborhood for upgrading on Wednesday of Christmas week, which means I'll be without internet all day tomorrow. So we've been trying to get all the recipes and orders done early, and I've buckled down and finished quite a bit of art stuff.

I was going to schedule this post on Wednesday, but I'm antsy about having no internet, so I'm posting now instead. The theme at SPA this week is Tags and Labels, so I went with a vintage Christmas make, using up some bits and bobs and paper scraps in the bargain.

The 4x6 card stock base was ink-blended with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Then I found a very old GinX patterned paper scrap to layer on after inking the edges of it. I had a cut out section of a Crafters Companion folder I'd embossed some gold vellum with and adhered it along the left edge. Then I used a green paper scrap to cut a tag using an old Sizzix Scalloped Tag die that I edged with a brown Promarker and then rubbed in some white gel pen outlining along the edge. Next layer was a darker green cut with a Spellbinders Labels 17 die. I did the same things on its edges and then added a collage sheet illustration of Santa and reindeer that I think came from the Funkie Junkie (it was in my box). I also had an old Melissa Frances First Class Santa Express Mail Post vintage label that I thought went nicely with the image so I edged it with the marker and added.

I had some Impression Obsession stamped and die cut candy canes in my box, so I added some red glitter marker and stacked  them along the left edge. In this pic you can see the embossed vellum peeking out.

In my box were some Sizzix Sizzlit die cut poinsettias and die cut greenery, so I added those and glitter-markered the center of the flower. I found a scrap of green card and die cut a Clear Dollar Stamps label that I then stamped the outline of with Sand Memento and stamped the Stamplorations sentiment with Acorn Versafine Clair ink, adding it to the top lefthand corner.

This Stamplorations stamped and diecut present was in my box, so I colored it with colored pencils and added glitter marker, adding it to the lower righthand side. I finished by adding 3 snowflakes punched out of white card.

One last look.
So, lots of die cuts, a big scalloped tag and multiple labels.
I really had no idea how this was gonna end up and I'm happy with it, especially using mostly bits and bobs.
This will look nice on display with my other Christmas 4x6 art.
Thanks for the visit. I hope you have a good Christmas week.

Vintage Christmas Santa Legend/Custom
I made it for my weekly 4X6 art practice with the theme being Tags and Labels, so I chose vintage style.
Family room decor, which is for my hubby and me and I'm a Galz :-)
I made this for our family room Christmas decor so it's half for my hubby and I aimed for keeping it masculine / non-frilly. Vintage works nice for a guy, too.

This is so cool Aimeslee!! Love all of the bits n bobs you added. Xfinity sounds like the power company around here. Let's shut off California's power during a summer heat wave and then double the energy prices during the winter. Ugh! Have a very Merry Christmas my friend and enjoy your family time.
