This Week's 4X6 Art

Happy Saturday, hope everyone is well.
My hip pain has lessened finally, but as it seems to always go, my Fibromyalgia pain is a delayed reaction, so now I'm in what Honey calls my "wall-to-wall" pain, meaning pain all over. Everything is in slow motion and I've been sleeping a lot.

So, my 4X6 for the week is late and I do apologize.
I've watercolored this digi for my art corner of Christmas decorations.
It's a bit non-traditonal in the color sense and it's refreshing amidst the normal Christmas stuff but still a part of the 12 Days of Christmas theme.
We know The 12 Days of Christmas as a song today, but in 16th century England, it was a secret coded tool used by persecuted Catholics to pass on their faith's customs and beliefs of the post-Advent Holy Season.

I printed out Power Poppy's Partridge in a Pear Tree digi from my Laserjet on 90# watercolor paper and trimmed it down. Then I ran it through my Xyron and adhered it to a 4x6 white card stock base. Then I got out my Tombow Watercolor markers and my watercolor pencils and went to town coloring the image.

Next, I got out my glitter markers and edged the image with different glittery colors.
Then I "glazed" all the berries with glitter marker.
And I glittered the partridge's head plume as well.

Last look.
I always enjoy watercoloring and this one turned out great in my book.
And another decoration made to enjoy for years to come.

Thanks for the visit today.
Have a great weekend!

Media: Paper, Watercolor markers, Watercolor pencils, Glitter markers
It's a home decoration and my hubby is my true love so I made it with him in mind. 😍

Take care of you however I'm glad you created this in the midst of awful pain! My fibromyalgia that I've had for about 6 years seems to be worsening a little bit each month as time goes on. So I can relate to that part. Crafting is one activity though that doesn't worsen it if I'm able to sit for a length of time and have items within easy reach. Thanks for the reminder that the 12 Days song was a secret code. Like others that would do part of a fish symbol near the signature and the receiver could finish. I like your idea of having an art decor corner. I might work on that this weekend for my computer desk area. Thanks for lots of good ideas and sharing your partridge card at FQGS and FQCCCB! Merry Christmas! --Becca

Oh I really love this piece. That pear tree in the teapot is lovely, and I like the non-traditional take of colors. It's still quite festive. I can only see a bit of the glitter, but I bet it really looks even more festive when the glitter shows up. I hope the fibromyalgia wall-to-wall doesn't last too long. hugs-Erika
