Time to Shellabrate!

 Happy FriYay!
Over here in America, Covid cases are rising.
Hope everyone is well.
I'm still working on Christmas cards but made this birthday guy card a few weeks ago and wanted to share it before I forgot to, old age being what it is, lol. It's almost completely a digital creation printed out, but I do love looking at it. Makes me think I'm in a clean blue pool of cool water, so refreshing! So, simple card to make but with a great visual impact. Plus, I love the big turtles and this gorgeously drawn and colored turtle by Beverly Cole does not disappoint. The Polkadoodles digital paper is very nice, too. I chose it because it has those mixed media dots, spots and stripes and looks like I'm below the water's surface looking up at the turtle and the sunshine filtering through the water. I created the scene and the sentiment in PSE and printed out to layer onto some yellow card and then to my card base. I also used some Distress Ink to edge distress with a foam tool and then I ran a dark blue Promarker around the perimeter.
Supplies:
Artsy Stamper Nature of the Beach Digital Image Set
(No Longer In Business)
Recollections Heavy Card stock base
Springhill Digital card stock
HP Premium Satin Photo Paper
Distress Ink and Promarker for edge-distressing
I printed out more of the digital paper for the back and combined it with a yellow Spellbinders die cut siggie, ink-distressing and edging as on the front.
And final view.
👀
Thanks for visiting me today.
Stay safe!

I love this Aimeslee. It makes you feel as though you are out swimming in one of those special places. I did once swim off the coast of Kenya. I didn't see a beautiful turtle but was frightened by a huge grouper. Not the same I know but the water was wonderful.

This card is gorgeous, and maybe I even like it better than the last sailboat card. Well MAYBE since they are really so different I love them both. This is the perfect summer card. It feels warm and cool at the same time. Nice job! And happy weekend. I hope your weather finally cools off a bit soon. You must be so tired of that extra high heat. Hugs-Erika

I love how you have put this together Aimes, a beautiful image and background. I agree it's like looking up at daylight beneath the waves. At least you still have this image to use, even though they're out of business. Great sentiment too.

Playing catch up with commenting. Your turtle card is amazing. I couldn't tell looking at it that it's mostly digital. It looks like you hand colored it and hand made the background (it does look like a clear swimming pool or "zoo pond" for wildlife.
