Mermazing Tag

 Hey there. Hope everyone's okay.
The current theme over at Tag Tuesday is Mermaids, so I got busy since I still need quite a few Summer tags and/or ATC's for the carrousel in my little corner display area. Finally, something to get my mind off my frequent headaches and vertigo due to the high pressure dome we are still under. Even with eagerness, it still took me forever longer to make it than it should have. I inked and stenciled two more backgrounds thinking I'd make a trio and post them all together, but at this rate the challenge will be over before I finish the 3rd one. So, here's the first one now.
Base is a 4x4 coaster. I ink-blended Shaded Lilac, Stormy Sky and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks on the surface, then used an ArtistCellar stencil with Mermaid Lagoon DI over it. The sand area was created by dauber-smooshing TH Distress Embossing Ink across the bottom, then heat-embossing using Stampendous Sand embossing powder, love that stuff. The GG collage sheet mermaid and underwater statue images were already printed out from more than a while ago (they're from the July 2016 subscriber newsletter sheet, bottom left).
I fussy-cut them and adhered to the underwater scene. The fishies and seaweed are LaLaLand Craft dies. I cut them from white card. Painted the fishies with yellow Smooch Ink and striped them using a Sakura glitter gel pen. I added the teeny google eyes just for grins. I colored the seaweed with Crackling Campfire DI. The bronze shell is a Whimsy die and was colored with Smooch Ink. The word Mermazing is an Impression Obsession die, cut from white card. I added some clear water droplet gems to finish.
And final view.
👀
As a reminder, my tags clip onto a carrousel to hang and need no holes at top, so I often use any shape I desire.
😎
Thanks for dropping by and stay cool and hydrated!

I live just minutes from the Texas Gulf Coast beaches, but sand is NOT my thing. However, I love being in the water as long as it's clean and safe, so that means usually a pool, lol. LOVE mermaids and underwater scenes though, so here's an underwater beach scene, complete with sand embossing powder!

This summer weather is a mess everywhere isn't it? Heat domes and flooding rain...Sorry to hear it's also causing you not to feel so great. Headaches aren't fun. But I do like your tag. It's a really fun summer theme, isn't it? I hope you can stay cool. hugs-Erika

I love your tag Aimeslee and your underwater scene. Those droplets look real. I'm sure hoping both of us get some migraine, and general pain, relief from this heat sometime soon. Hang in there my friend.

Definitely Mermazing Aimes, this is gorgeous, She is a wonderful image, shown off beautifully. Love it. I hope you're feeling better soon, seems the weather pattern around the world is strange. We are having lower temperatures than normal with 50mph winds and thrashing rain with thunder. Undoubtedly 'puter weather and "playing". Keep safe and well. Hugs

Wow, what an absolutely enchanting mermazing tag you've created! The level of precision in your fussy cutting is truly spectacular, giving the design a flawless and professional look. The inky background adds a mesmerizing touch, adding depth and dimension to the overall composition. I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I hope you recover soon, especially considering our weather is terribly hot. Take good care of yourself, and stay safe! xoxo Makira

A beautiful underwater, mermaid scene, Amy. I think you must have an awesome way of storing your Gecko Galz sheets - how on earth do you find specific images from such a diverse collection and know the actual date of the free set? Methinks you have superpowers :)
