Frozen in Time Art Journal Deco

Hello, hope you're all having a good week.
Well, between the heat dome and power outages, I'm behind in posting a few challenge makes, so look for multiple posts from me until I get them all up.
This is a 7x7 deco I've made for our fireplace mantle. If I may be so bold, it's a collage art piece, not associated with an season or holiday like most of my home decor pieces. I used Gecko Galz digital images from several collage sheets and the focal image of the woman was a blog freebie. I saw it in my files and needed to use her! In PSE, I sized her and then added resized images of dapper gentlemen (this month's GG theme) in the corners. I also added the clock time numbers to her headdress because it reminded me of a clock. I added an orange frame and printed it. and the sentiment which I trimmed down and adhered to the piece. I printed on HP Satin Photo Paper for a crisp look. Then I cut each corner with a punch and added 3 flat-back pearls.
The bottom layer of white card has the perimeter lined with art deco stickers I've been hoarding. I used some gorgeous black and gold embossed paper as the next paper layer up. I ran a thin line of Copper Stickles around the edge and put 4 square brass brads at the corners and topped each with a blue flat-back faceted rhinestone. For the top layer behind the image, I cut a piece of blue bubble embossed paper with a Spellbinders die and arranged it at an offset angle for interest and to trick the eye a bit into thinking it was a continuation of the blue background in the focal image.
Now, what does it all mean? Any number of ideas come to mind now, but I really didn't have a narrative in mind when making it. Lol, it does look a little bit like the cover of a racy romance novel! Hmmm.....
I'll leave it to others to decide the story.
Perhaps a good conversation piece?
😁
Thanks for the visit and have a nice evening!

Maybe it could even the cover of a murder mystery set in the 1920's or 30's. I like all the details you chose and the paper layering. This is definitely a piece to put up in your house as it is quite lovely. It's collage at its best...if my opinion counts for anything-smile. Hope your weather improves soon. I've seen all the crazy temperatures in your area on the news. hugs-Erika

What a talent to be able to put together so many elements and make them work. It is the first entry that I have seen that has combined more than one color. Thanks for linking up with us at Double D Challenge. I hope to see you again.
