Sweet Hugs Slimline Valentine

Happy Day to everyone. Hope the weather where you are is not too bad. Dear Children's power has been restored and normal life has resumed, thank goodness. And it was sunny and mild today for us, so no complaints at all. Honey and I are watching a Carolina Wren family gather nesting materials in our hanging airplane plant, right next to our back door. This will be interesting to observe, especially if eggs are laid. I think our hanging plant is just being used for temporary material storage. I really can't see them nesting so close to human activity, but we'll see.
Today I'm sharing a Slimline Valentine card, made for Honey's mom. Ever since the tornado, I've been having trouble focusing and stuff is taking longer to get made, so I found myself needing something quick and simple to get in the mail. A pre-colored digi and die cuts helped me out.
Supply List:
Recollections Heavyweight card stock for base
Creative Imagination 12x12 designer paper
Jan's pre-colored Digi Stamp Sweetheart Candy printed on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper
Cheery Lynn Sweetheart Candy dies, colored with Zig Clean Color watercolor markers
Stamplorations Sweet die
Lawn Fawn Hugs die
Impression Obsession and Stamplorations dies (inside)
Inside, die cuts provided the sentiment.
And on back, more of the designer paper and a stamped circle-punched siggie.
And final view. Easy peasy, yet I'm ashamed at how long it took me. When I have these spells it feels like I'm swimming underwater through mud, but I just have to ride them out until they pass.
Anyway, thanks so much for the visit and I hope your week has gone well!

Thank goodness things are starting to get back to normal. Tornados are so scary because they are so unpredictable. Hang in there Aimes! This is a lovely card and thanks for playing along at The Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge.

Aimeslee: Glad you survived the recent tornado impacting southern Texas. I've got relates in the D-FW area and also in East Texas, so I was sending up lots of prayers to heaven for those I know in the southern states. Your Valentine's slimline style card is very cheery and festive! Thanks for sharing at Heart's Quest! --Becca/owner

Cute card Aimeslee. I hadn't even thought of conversation hearts this year, so this was a great idea. I should get a package for the hubby as he loves them. And thanks for looking at the weather. Today was very nice, and we had some snow melt. And we had lots of mud too! It's our 5th weather season here, and hopefully won't go into the deep freeze again so the frost won't go back into the ground. You should link this card up to TIOT if you'd like to. Glad to hear the kids got their power back. It's no fun to be out any length of time. Have a wonderful weekend. hugs-Erika

Love the jar of conversation hearts. I need to get busy for Valentine's cards for the grandkids. I got the one sent off to Michigan. I still need to make two for the kids that live here.

Your card is beautifully put together, the candy jar is perfect for the slimline, it's a very cute design!! Luckily here, not tornado weather yet, just cold where we are for the next few days, it's 18 degrees right now, our lower part of Michigan is much warmer, what are we doing here at the tip of the mitt lol!!

Love the image, so "sweet", you matched up the papers and the die cuts beautifully Aimes. I know what you mean when you say you are "swimming underwater through mud." With a few things happening here, I feel like that too hahaha

P.s. I'm so happy to be covid free at last. It's good to get out again with my friend and her dog. In the open air I feel safe, although I now have antibodies so I feel invincible 😁

I read her obituary. She seems like she was a very nice lady. she passed fairly young. Thank you for the information. I started following a tutorial and made a card base. It ended up way too small for what I wanted to do with it. It had to be 8.5 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. I needed room for the branches to flow over the edges and still fit in the envelope. I used an envelope that is 6 X 9, I believe. I explained what I wanted to Tom and he drew a diagram with the perfect measurements.

Beautiful Valentine's card! I've never thought to put those candy hearts into a desert glass before. Your mother in law is going to love it. I hear you on the lack of focusing. I've been having the same issue and finally have started stamping again. Life has been nuts (see my latest post). Have a great week.
