Happy Day, hope everyone's okay and enjoying the weekend so far.
I've got a birthday card to share that I made for one of my brothers-in-law. In addition to using some cute digis, I did some hand stamping, coloring, stenciling and ink sponging/blending/distressing to make this brightly colored, funny card.
I chose this Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 sketch for my layout design, rotating it sideways to accommodate my focal image.
Supply List:
Stamp On It/QKR Stampede digis Magic Card (used on card front)
and One Year Older (used inside)
Both images colored with Promarkers, accented with glitter and gel pens
Blick tag board for 6x6 card base
Hero Arts Star Light background stamped with Medieval Blue Versafine Clair ink
(front and back)
Clear Dollar Stamps birthday sentiment also stamped with the same Versafine Clair ink,
and heat-embossed with clear powder
QuicKutz star dies, colored with Promarkers
Sweet n Sassy hexagon die
Crafters Companion/Gemini Torn Edge Oval die
Tim Holtz and Memory Box star stencils
Distress inks for stenciling and sponging focal and sentiment die cut mats

Avery Elle designer paper (inside)
Inside is the other digi with the perfect punchline! This cracks me up every time. I added the text underneath in PSE before printing out.
A shot of the back with the front. The back shows the full effect of that very cool Hero Arts background stamp.
Close-up of the front to show the little bit of sparkly I added with the gel and glitter pens. I used a black gel pen to trace over the sentiment to make it stand out.

That card is magic. And quite fun. I wish a birthday wizard would be around when my birthday is here to grant me some wonderful wishes. Smile! I've never been to the Texas Coast so it must be quite pretty. And it was a good game last night. I really didn't care who won, just wanted a good game to watch. The hubby and I did, and it was a good game, but I bet your husband wasn't disappointed with the results. In the end, it's just a game. I hope your new week starts off nicely. We're going to have some warmer weather this week-more snow melt-hopefully. hugs-Erika

Okay, now you have me looking for two Tim Holtz stencils. This is such a great card. I remember using this image a few years ago. I love the double sides. This is so elaborate, so many different ideas used. Just wonderful!
