Birthday Cake!

Happy Day, everyone. My prayers continue for all experiencing extreme winter weather.
I'm currently working on projects for later scheduled posts, but here's a birthday card to share that I made about a week ago. I had my paints out and found a 90# water color paper that would go through my printer. So I printed up some digital images on my Laserjet and this Scribbles Designs Birthday Cake Slice image is the first one I colored. Then I needed to get a card in the mail for a girlfriend, so I fussy cut it out and made a Z-fold card to put it on. The orange circle was leftover from a previous project, so I pulled the Pebbles designer paper pack it came from and used some as my papers. I also used some yellow gold copy paper.
The card base was made from a legal sheet of white card stock, trimmed to 13.5 x 7 inches, then cut diagonally across the top, then scored and folded longways every 4.5 inches. I kept the diagonal cut-off to use as a guide for the designer paper. The Wild Rose Studio sentiment on front was stamped and heat-embossed, then circle punched. The Impression Obsession and Stamplorations sentiments inside the card were stamped on Spellbinders Label 17 die cuts. My stamping ink was Charming Pink Versafine Clair.
On the back panels, more of the papers and a stamped and circle-punched siggie.
I thought this angled shot was cool because you can see the glittery reddish-pink outer icing turn a lighter pink as the light hits it and reflects the glitter. I dotted the chocolate icing with the same glitter pen and also used a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen. The cake and chocolate icing were water colored. The pink candles were colored with a Promarker but the flames were colored with the glitter pens. I shadow-outlined the image with a black Ebony pencil.
And final view.
Thanks for the visit today and Happy Weekend!

Yummy! Your cakes look fantastic with all the edibles on the insides! Those dancing poke-a-dots look full of party-life and happiness. I especially like how you used an orange circular frame, containing white "circles" atop the colorfully "circular background. Sweet card, Aimes!

I like the shape of this card. And I love the celebration polka dots too. It makes a great birthday card, and it feels like a birthday card too. And I had to laugh at your comment about liking gators. It was just fun to see them (from the car) because we certainly don't have them here. And since we were in Florida, you have to see one, right? Gator wrestling- not for me. Grin! We've warmed up, thank goodness. Hope this week is going well. Hugs-Erika
