Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all doing well. The holidays can be stressful and sometimes depressing for many. My heart goes out to all who are struggling. I feel like I'm treading water myself right now, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
😓
Today I'm sharing a birthday card for one of my sisters-in-law. If you are beginning to get tired of seeing Christmas 24/7, then this should be a welcome sight! While I did get my guy cards done for the next several weeks, I discovered that I still have some girl cards to do.
It never ends, does it?
😵
Supplies Used:
SU, Recollections and Springhill Digital card stocks
Provo Craft Windswept designer papers
Image: Impression Obsession "Sweet Treats" rubber stamp, colored with Promarkers,
Stamped with Monarch Versafine Clair ink and and heat-embossed w/clear powder
Impression Obsession "Happy Birthday" die
X-Cut Balloon dies (balloon, string, bow)
WRMK Chomper corner rounder tool
Hero Arts inside sentiment
I chose this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my layout design.
The papers I picked out for this are a blue-violet and yellow-green color combo, so I turned to my color wheel to find the best third color family for this triad.
It turned out to be red-orange. So that's what I used, gathering as many of my Promarkers together that matched these shades. I ended up using more orange than red shades, but I stayed close and it really did provide color contrast and pop. I stamped the focal image with Monarch Versafine Clair ink and heat-embossed it with clear powder before coloring with Promarkers. I cut the sentiment dies twice, once from white card and once from the SU card. I cut the balloon and string from some of the designer paper and the bow from the SU which was used to mat the 3 card front sections.
Inside, more of the designer papers and a Hero Arts sentiment stamped with the Monarch Versafine Clair.
Here's a shot of the back along with the front to show the continuity.
And final view.
I really liked how this came out, using the red-orange color wheel complement to blue-violet and yellow-green. I should probably try to remember to use my color wheels more often.
Thanks for the visit and have a good day.

Aagh, I am having such a tough time commenting today. Each time I think I'm commenting, I find out when I'm done that I somehow have moved all the way down the page and am not commenting on anything! Anyways, I absolutely love this card! So very pretty and every surface is finished.
What a pretty colourful feminine creation, I am sure your SIL will love her special card, many thanks for sharing with us at We Love Stamping.

Oh Aimeslee! This is so beautiful! I"m sure your sister in law is going to love it. I hear you on the struggling. I'm there right now myself. I think I need to get better admitting it to folks. I finally did to my doctor and she's concerned and keeping a really close eye on me.
A beautiful colourful card Aimeslee.
Keep your head above water, and try not to get stressed. This is such a busy month. We are fortunate that our daughter has offered to host in her new home this year, she's very excited :D We'll be hosting after the big day, so we're not really getting away with it!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Alison
This is a delightful birthday card! I was just thinking today that I've neglected to send birthday cards to many relatives with December birthdays because of focusing on Christmas but it must be awful to be 'forgotten'. Thanks for posting your birthday card as a reminder for me to change my ways. :) And thanks for linking to Ally's Angels! --Becca/DT
