Gather Life's Little Treasures and Remembering 9-11

Hello, hoping all is well with you. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. They are so appreciated! Not improving as of yet, but hopefully I'll feel a bit better in the next few days. Not my first rodeo with the injections. They do take their time to work. For the time being since all I can really do is lie down horizontal and stand, I've a beach-themed Thinking Of You card to share. Honey asked me to make it so he could send his uncle an old 3x5 family photo he found. So I made a 4x6 card. He retired to a house on the beach down the coast just north of Corpus Christi and walks the beach every morning, so I figured he'd like this stamped Inkadinkado sentiment.
All the papers are scraps and quite old. The focal image was stamped on a scrap that looked like it had a fiery orange setting sun on the horizon. I added an orange sheer ribbon on a rusty brown card strip and 3 orange enamel dots. I stamped the Avery Elle sentiments on the left side and then took a couple of Sakura metallic/glitter gel pens -- one silver, one gold -- and ran them around the paper layers for a bit of shimmer and sheen.

I used this Splitcoaststampers sketch, stretching it from A2 to 4x6".
Honey is in charge of what goes inside, so I did not go there.
The back of the card.
And an angled shot to show the metallic, glitter and embossing of the focal image.
And a final view of my card.
Since today has been the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, I wanted to share the deco I made 3 years ago using a fabulous drawing by Leigh S-B Designs that I colored and layered onto various scrapbook papers and an 8x8" red acrylic-painted cardboard base. The USA is an Art Declassified rubber stamp. Honey loves this deco and asks about it every year. Love the hands!
I need to share some food for this week's Rain's Thursday Art & Dinner Date. This is a yellow sheet cake with chocolate walnut icing/frosting that we made a few weeks ago. I've nothing recent to share as I've been eating my Lean Cuisines. We used The Pioneer Woman's recipe for Epiphany Cake, less the trinkets and plus the walnuts at the very end after icing the cake. Honey mixed the batters for me in his Kitchen Aid mixer (yes, his, not mine!) As she says, you can definitely use a cake mix instead of scratch, but we had all the ingredients and no boxed cake mix. Very tasty!

Well, that's it for me. Hope you have a good week ahead. XOX

I love the colours and the clean lines on this card. The sentiment is perfect and the black silhouette image is great with the background!
