Happy Tuesday once again. It's my second post today because I've finally gotten some pain relief in my shoulder and hand along with enough focus to complete an art journal page I'd begun earlier in the month.
Supplies:
Gesso, White acrylic paint, Inktense pencils/bars
Black Sakura Gelly Glaze pen, Black Posca paint pen
Wordsworth black letter stickers
Spellbinders Crosses 1 die, Gold mirror card
Tiny rhinestones
Photo of the Naive of my childhood Episcopal church
Page was gesso'd and a base layer of acrylic paint added. Stained glass design was sketched out in pencil, then traced over with black glaze pen. Inktense pencil was scribbled in each square and top/bottom, then water-activated with a damp brush. Stickers, crosses, rhinestones and photo were adhered. Descriptive words at bottom were hand written.
The church windows were among my most cherished memories of my church that my family were members of. I spent a lot of time gazing at them during services: how the light filtered through them, the prisms of color, how they colored the carpet and pews with their intense hues. I believe they very much influenced my love of color. So I wanted to record how much they mean to me.
Some close-up shots...
And final view. I'm so happy that I got this important memory of my childhood and life documented. I've been wanting to for awhile.
Thanks for the visit. Have a great evening, XXO.

I'm glad to hear your shoulder pain has subsided Aimeslee. and I am also glad you made a page for AJJ this month. This one is quite stunning, and I really like your background. It looks amazing, and fits your photo so well. I remember looking through the stained glass windows of my childhood church too. Of course I should have been listening to the preacher I guess-smile. Thanks so much for joining us at AJJ for Chris' challenge. I hope you have a great last day of August. hugs-Erika
You poor dear. I hope your shoulder isn't a lasting pain and am glad you got some relief. Your brightly coloured page really brings the eye onto the photo. Nice memories for you. Bethie
I'm pleased you're feeling better! Seeing stained glass windows is always a thrill for me-our church has clear windows. I love how you created the stained glass background for your photo. Thanks so much for this lovely page for my AJJ theme. Hugs, Chrisx
Wow, wow, wow!!! Look at all of that stained glass you did. Gorgeous art journal page and I'm in love with your stained glass effect. Hoping you're having a pain free day my friend.
