What I also think is cool is that there will be a partial solar eclipse in October and a total lunar eclipse in November. I read about it HERE. Busy celestial year!
This thank you card is an attempt at artsy, but I originally just wanted to combine the Gecko Galz digital collage sheet image with the Deep Red stamp image, because I thought the chairs in both looked similar so it's like she's at an outdoor sidewalk cafe' sipping a cuppa. Hahaha that was the intention anyhow. I mean, I can see it! 😉😊😉 I cut a scrap piece of Basic Grey Sublime paper with a Spellbinders Labels 21 die, cut it down and used it to mat the image along with some black photo corners. Just playing. It's different, but as it calls for a round element there, I used rounded sides. The Stamplorations sentiment is stamped with Nocturne VF Clair ink. The beautiful washi tape is from my stash and was chosen because I thought it played well with what's behind the woman in the image.
I used Splitcoaststampers Sketch SC375 for my layout design but flipped it horizontally.
Well, I believe this is my last stenciling effort for a while, I'm over it for the time being, lol. I didn't think to snap a pic of the background until after I'd added the washi tape, but you can still see the majority of it. The name of the stenciling technique escapes me at present, but it's where you use a baby wipe to pick up the color. I began with a piece of damply spritzed water color paper and Crackling Campfire DO ink on a craft sheet. I did that wrinkle-free distress tech, smooching the paper down on, in, through the ink. Didn't like the result, so I got a brush and water colored the sheet, then heat-dried it. (I may have screwed up drying it?) Then, I put Tim's Bricked Layering Stencil on my paper and with a baby wipe rubbed through the openings. At first it did well, but even though I kept the wipe clean and used several wipes, it literally quit working (see the top left of my card and then left down to bottom). I kind of panicked and ended up damp water brushing each opening and by the time I got to the bottom right, the brush was too wet and I ended up imprinting the stencil in places. Yup, I flunked that technique, but it's okay because I like the end result just fine! Imperfection adds character, right? 😁
The first thing I did on this card front was to stamp and clear heat-emboss the cafe' image on the water color paper, and then I cut a piece of Avery Repositionable Label paper to mask it before smooshing/water coloring the rest of the background. Have to give that stuff props. It got inky and wet, but it kept contact and no ink seeped onto my image. Gotta love that! I colored the scene using a combination of Promarkers and Zig Clean Color markers with a little water.
Inside the card, left, Avery Elle and Wordsworth stamped sentiments. On back, right, a larger scrap of the BG with a stamped/punched siggie. I just had to use the BG as it blended so well with my card front.

For all the errors and everything you had to do to this card, it was worth it all Aimes, it's really lovely. Pretty colours and a great stamping to match the image. We wanted to catch the moon too, however all we had was a thick blanket of cloud and rain!

I missed the eclipse as it was too cloudy to see much. I'm glad your hubby got to see it. I wish I had. And I like your brick background. In fact I like your whole card and how you layered the little table and chairs and that wonderful vintage lady. And nice tape too.
