Vintage Christmas Card Collage

Hello all! Hope you had a nice weekend and are looking forward to a good week.
I haven't kept up blogging the cards I've made and now have a backlog of them. The card today is the first of some I made when I was in the mood to collage vintage images. I was intentionally working loose and exercise I'd read about that helps one refocus and revive. So, the look is different from what you've been seeing from me lately. But I am very eclectic style-wise, so it isn't unusual. 😊
I used this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my layout design. I did follow it but added a few more layers of images. The bones of the sketch are there.
My card base is kraft card cut to A7 size. All the papers I used were from my Black Hole of Stash. I used an EKS scallop border punch to make the green scallops peeking out from the red card that is embossed with a Cuttlebug 5x7 Christmas Countdown folder, then ink-swiped over the raised surface with a Platinum Planet Brilliance Ink dew drop pad. I used another EKS corner punch on the red layer and then ink distressed the edges with Starlite Black Brilliance Ink. I've used both Brilliance inks on all the collage elements as well. The Santa bingo card is Gecko Galz, but the rest of the elements were in my stash box unlabeled. I only know the dark red toys image is Melissa Frances and I think the Holiday Cheer circle sentiment is from a sheet of very old GinX collection paper, mayyyyyybe Clark's Christmas but not at all sure. I cut that collection up and used it long ago, this is merely a remnant.
This card is going to our Lawn Guy, so I made a little pocket on the left side for a cash gift. The numbers card is some DCWV and the Merry Christmas banner is a Crafters Companion stamp I heat-embossed and never used til now. The Stamplorations sentiment on the righthand side was stamped with Versafine Clair.
On back, more of the numbers card scraps and another scrap of paper that had been cut with deco scissors on one edge and then had a star die-cut out of it. I used it as is, slipping a snippet of gold star scrap underneath it, stamping my Kaiserkraft siggie inside the star.
Here's a close up shot of the shine, thanks to the ink-swiping and edge-distressing with the Brilliance pads. I added some silver sticker stars and also used some silver ribbon trim from stash.
The Holiday Cheer words were not standing out very well on their own, so I took a Sakura Silver Shadow gel pen and traced over the existing type. Problem solved!
And a final view. I actually LOVE making cards like this. Makes me feel like I'm in a cabin in the woods with just a few supplies. Same feeling I get when I would string cranberries and popcorn to make garlands. Well, thanks for visiting today and until next time, stay crafty and well! XOX

Xmas, Yuletide

A gorgeous festive card Aimeslee! Love the papers you used.
Our sweet mixed spice here contains cinnamon, coriander, dill, cloves, caraway, fennel, nutmeg and turmeric. I didn't expect some of those when I just checked! Lol
Have a great new week.

Love the background on this card. There's so much to look at. I had to laugh when I saw it was a card for the lawn guy. What's a lawn? Just kidding we had a wonderful lawn when we lived in NJ. Out here it's just desert. We have left our yard as natural desert so it requires almost no maintenance. Although we do have fruit trees that we need to take care of.
