Rosy Tea Party Birthday

Hello, Monday. Are you back again? {heehee} Hope everyone is well and safe and ready to start another week. We made progress on our paperwork over the weekend. In the USA, we get an extra month this year to file our income taxes (and those of us in the states that got hit by that Feb. winter storm get until July). So I am trying to start to get our papers found and categorized. Every year it gets harder for me. I now just marvel at the thought that I actually did tax returns for 30 years!!! LOL Once I left it, I was gone and if I had any sense I'd have someone else do ours.

A niece's birthday's coming up so today I'm sharing the card I made her. It's truly a digital hybrid card, as I used images, sentiment and paper from Imagine That DigiStamps kit Rosy Tea Party
And I used paper from Pebbles Birthday Wishes pad:
I also hand stamped the inside sentiments in a frame.

I used SplitCoastStampers sketch SC338, as is, except that I did embellish around the circle element to frame it and I added ribbon. I actually made an A2 size card this time. After usually making 6x6 and A7 cards, the A2 seems tiny but it's good to mix it up at times.

I started out with SU for my card base and the Pebbles designer paper. I soon had a polka dot theme going on. In PSE, I opened a file and the ITDS digi set, choosing some dotted paper and then resizing the white-outlined tea cup mouse and digitally layering it onto the paper. I also layered on the sentiment from the set. I resized and duplicated the flowers and then printed everything.

I used my trusty Coluzzle circle cutting tool and cut the paper/mouse out, fussy cut the roses, added the ribbon I found in my stash and then my printed elements. I popped the roses up on thin dimensionals. Only then did I notice that the tea cup has polka dots and little pink roses. Ha - gotta love good digi kits, coordinated even when you don't know it!

The inside of the card is where I've hand-stamped. I picked out a polka dot paper scrap from my stash and stamped a Fiskars frame, then Papertrey Ink and Clear Dollar Stamps sentiments. I fussy cut out and layered onto Pebbles mats.

On the back, more of the Pebbles card with every little scrap I had left of my digitally printed ITDS paper from the front. I realized I could make a frame with the scraps and on a scrap of white I added a hand-stamped EKSuccess siggie I then circle-punched.

One last view. I am very much hoping for sunshine at least some of the week. We're supposed to get rain a few days and the humidity can be annoying. The worst rain day in the forecast at 70% chance is Wednesday and that is Honey's birthday, boo! Hoping you have sunshine wherever you are! XOX

  6. It's hard enough keeping important papers in order all year long. To also do your tax return yourself is just too much! You're paid your dues! It's time to let someone else do the work!
Your card is so sweet! Adorable image and a wonderful sketch design. I love the little roses you've bordered with. What a great idea! Thanks for sharing this with us at Penny's!

  10. The little mouse in the cup is so adorable and with the papers, makes it even more special, I suspect one little girl is going to be over the moon with this wonderful card. Good luck with your tax returns. We've had a little rain, but dark clouds today. Going to be worse tomorrow? AH! well, I always say, that's what keeps our valley's green in Wales. hahaha
