Have A Beautiful Birthday - Shabby Chic Vintage Style

Hello, Lovely Blogging Folk! I must apologize for my absence here. Once the wedding is over and we are back home again, things will get back to normal. Hope all of you are well and happy...and definitely not as stressed as moi! lol

I thought I would share a birthday card made for a very dear girlfriend who loves shabby chic style.

I used the Outlawz current Wednesday sketch, letting the lines of the musical score paper represent the horizontal lines of the sketch.

I took a 12x12 sheet of KIMemories double-sided colored card stock from my Card Stock Time Vault, lol, and cut it in half, creating 2 6x6 card bases, using one here as a side-opening card. The outside is brown and the inside is a soft green.

I wanted to use coordinated papers so I chose a few different patterns from the Prima by Finnabair Vintage Vanity A4 pad.

I distressed the edge of the musical score base paper layer using my distressing tool and Palette Hybrid Cognac ink. I wanted a distressed, weathered, aged look to it, but soft. I also used Palette Burnt Umber, Charcoal and Haystack inks on the Spellbnders A2 Classic frame, frame insert and strip behind frame. I layered various Prima paper flower clusters with mini brads and then a larger layered flower with a K&Co vintage jeweled button brad. I added photo corner and leaf stickers to one corner as well. The sentiment is by My Favorite Things, stamped with Versafine Clair and heat-embossed.

On the inside of my card, I included a tag I'd made by blending Distress inks and adding a Stamplorations sentiment stamped with Versafine Clair ink and some fibers from my stash. I used a Spellbinders A2 Poppies pocket die cut from white index stock as a holder for the tag. The sentiments stamped on the right hand side are by Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things.

For the back of my card, more ink and tool distressed musical score paper with my custom siggie stamp in Versafine Clair ink.

My sweet friend loved her card and the tag inside was a nice surprise. I like the softness of the card but with a deliciously dark aged edge.

CHALLENGES:
1.  Outlawz Wednesday Sketch 1/8-1/21 -- Shown above

Hopefully everything is running smoothly for the wedding. I can understand not having time for hobbies at this time.

This is so victorian and I LOVE it. Nice to see such pretty flowers accenting your image.

Oh, this is so pretty, Aimeslee - such delicate pastel colours, fresh and springlike, and I love that extra touch of texture from the inky torn edges. Thanks so much for joining us on A Vintage Journey this month.
