Ghoul's Night Out Concept Card

Happy TGIF, sweet blogging friends! I'm sharing a card today inspired by my love for Lost Coast Design Stamps and their excellent challenge and events blog, Lost Coast Portal to Creativity - what a name, huh? I love it and it's aptly named, too. I do not have that many LCD stamps...2 dozen or so...and I need to remedy that soon but it's overwhelming because I want too many of them, lol.

Anyway, I always try to use their stamps once per challenge when possible. And they are having a month long October challenge called  31 Days of Halloween! A Halloween card was a challenge for me to make because none of my LCD stamps are that theme. Hence my "concept "card. Hope it's not too weird for you...sometimes creativity is weird!

I used a group of dolls and this sentiment as wordplay on "girl's night out". And I thought it would be spooky to have them in a dark gothic arch-laden building. I stamped the Arches and Doorway background with a deep purple ink so my ghosts would show up well. I colored over it all with a ghoulish green ProMarker. The background stamp is rather large so I did not use a mat layer underneath.

I have loosely used Atlantic Hearts current sketch, sized to A2 in PSE and then flipped it horizontally to accommodate my elements.

SUPPLIES:
Paper:  SU card stock, Neenah index stock, Doodlebug patterned papers, deli paper
Collage Sheet Images: Gecko Galz Halloween Night and Haunted Ladies
Stamps:  Lost Coast Designs Dolls and Arches and Door; Pink By Design; Crafty Secrets; Inkadinkado; Leave Memories
Inks:  ProMarkers, VersaMark, VersaFine Clair, Black Soot Distress Ink
Dies: MFT Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax, Quickutz Squeeze Ghost
Other/Stash: Deco scissors, embossing powders,

After stamping a moon in the doorway with VersaMark and heat-embossing to make it a resist to ink, I used the green ProMarker to color the sky, the moonlight and the dolls' faces. I stamped my dolls, fussy cut them and colored them with ProMarkers. And the coolest thing is, remember how I wondered if I could die cut my QK ghost using deli paper? Well, I tried and you can and it's cool because it's transparent...like a ghost! I used a glue stick to adhere them.

The way I did the inside this time was an experiment to try to use some of my already printed out collage sheet images. I used to just print out each sheet until finally realizing I should work per image. So I've got more than a few printed sheets! Anyway, I'm going to keep trying this (in lieu of stamping inside sentiments, or in addition to), to try and use them.

The back of my card has a snippet scrap of very old Doodlebug paper along with the die cut siggie stamp and a leftover snippet of the same card stock as the card base.

And a final look. I had fun creating this card, getting to use my Lost Coast stamps on something Halloweenish AND discovering deli paper ghosts!

CHALLENGES:
1.  Atlantic Hearts Sketch #337 -- sketch shown above
2.  Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Challenge #85: 31 Days of Halloween -- I've used LCD stamps, too, for double entry points. See Supplies above.
