File Under: Life Is What Happens When You're Making Plans

A last-minute Hump Day Hello to y'all! To explain my blog post title, I'm sharing a card that was directly inspired by 2 challenges that I went and missed the deadline for for one of them! I HATE when that happens, but especially these two because I like to participate every challenge if I can, darnit. Oh well -- see Title above -- Live and Learn! I just need to prioritize them both next time, lol. And, at least I can still participate in one of them! {Happy Dance!}

Even though you cannot see him on the front, my 6x6 Christmas card is all about him. It's an homage to Santa, as complies with the Jingle Belles latest challenge Santa Baby. Perusing my Christmas papers, I ran across this 7Gypsies' Santa's Journey sheet and knew I wanted to pair it with the super cute vintage-y Stampers Anonymous stamped image T'was the Night Before... .

And I used this Outlawz Wednesday Sketch that is no longer current because I stayed too long out at Taco Tuesday and got home 10 minutes after the deadline. Still, I do not regret that because Honey and I were able to visit with friends we had not seen in a long while. And it's a great sketch that I will add to the challenge anyway. I did not follow it religiously but loosely instead. I wanted to keep as much of the paper showing as I could so my 3 vertical strips are much skinnier and closer together, and I used a doily for the circle element because my stamped image is a rectangle. Even though "Coming to a Roof Top Near You" is where the ribbon should go, I added some velvet ric-rac right below those words.

 It was very hard impossible to photograph just how much the snow on the stamp image sparkles and glistens. After stamping with VersaFine Clair Fallen Leaves ink and letting it dry well, I colored the outer frame with colored pencils, then got tired of that and went with ProMarkers to color the image itself. Tried some shades of yellowish-pink on the moon and I like how that came out. I used my Sakura glitter gel pen on the moon rays and all the roof and word snow, and it's so so so sparkly in real life. Like ice-y snow.

Here is the back of my card. This is another sheet from the 7Gypsies paper pad, an entire collage that I cut just a bit to fit on the card base. All I added was my punched out Impression Obsession siggie stamp with my CTMH Art by Aimeslee custom stamp stamped on top of that, in Acorn VersaFine Clair ink.

Here is the inside of my card and there is Santa! I stamped a Pink Persimmon image and large sentiment with VersaFine Clair Fallen Leaves ink. The bottom smaller sentiment is Papertrey Ink.

I hope you liked my card. I will leave you with a few close-ups of the glittery snow and a final view before listing my challenges:

A fabulous and festive card. I love the title of your post and the heading on the card you created. The snow glittering looks lovely, you must have caught the right lighting when you photographed the card.
