Altered Art

I've been busy lately making some dimensional stuff for a few swaps / mingles. I finally finished them all and they've been swapped out, so now I can share with you.

The first piece is an altered cd ornament that I made for the November lottery at my Altered Designs yahoo group. I had won October's lottery, so I got to pick the theme and I thought this would be fun, given the name of our group...right? It was fun. The November winner received a set of 10 beautiful ornaments.

Next is yet another cd ornament, made this time for a special holiday project mingle at Altered Designs. We could do another altered cd, and I had so much fun doing the first one, so I did. This time I played with glitter, in different forms. I discovered some very cool product already on my shelf. Stickles fine Glitter rocks! Yep, they no longer make it (googled it, nada), but I bought a jar way back when, when it came out, never used it, so now it's like Christmas. The stuff is AMAZING. So shiny. Really makes me wonder if it was retroactive or something, why they no longer make it. Oh well, there is risk in everything!

Another product I had forgotten I had was Diamond Dust and it's cool too. I googled it as well...it's crushed glass. And what it does after the glue dries is neat. I did the watermarked snowflake on the orange side that is on the orange paper. After I'd burnished it heavily with my fingers and took most of the glitter off, I was left with a translucent and watery-looking snowflake.

These are great, really loving these Aimeslee, I've been having all kinds of ideas for altering cds lately - trouble is I threw all my old cds out years ago haha ah well just goes to back up my philosophy of never throwing anything away (it's not hoarding, it's recycling) hehe xxx

Hello...Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. (I didn't even realize I had comments there.)

Yes, I did quote you: what you said about "art oxygen" was exactly right! ;-)

I did see your digital collage on Flickr, and I think you did a great job. Keep playing with it. I love how I don't even have to get out paints or paper to create when I make things digitally.

Enjoy your weekend!
