Happy last Sunday of April!
We are a third of the way through 2025 already.
This was a really warm week for us. It rained through midweek and then came some sunny heat.
Honey's really into planting stuff in his newly built raised bed.
And our neighbor gave us some strawberry plants.
If I were a betting person, I'd bet against that surviving our summers, but it would be cool if they somehow did. When we moved here in 1998, the previous owner had some strawberry plants and a lemon tree in the back corner. We harvested the strawberries the next spring and we got some lemons but somehow I guess we managed to kill them both. Or was it because we built a deck back there?
At any rate, strawberries grew here once, maybe they will again.
The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is hosted by Mandy and she chose Hares for Earth Day.
I thought of my 100 Proof Press Handsome Hares stamp and since they are dressed in Elizabethan Era clothing I thought of Shakespeare's famous quote about the world. I cut the Tim Holtz Mini Globe Thinlit die out of a scrap of green card and found a sheet of little globes in Carta Bella's Old World Travel designer papers for my 4x6 base, which I inked with Salvage Patina and Peacock Feathers Distress inks. I stamped the hares with Nocturne Versafine Clair ink and colored a bit with Promarkers, then fussy cut them. I typed the Shakespeare quote in PSE, printed out and cut it with deco scissors, then inked it and added to my base. I added the hares and done!

I made this birthday card for my oldest nephew who recently became a dad. I wanted something his adorable little daughter would like too, so I pulled out these Art Impressions frogs that I've used a few times before. The designer paper is some very old Junkitz on a base mat of Wausau and a Recollections card base. I stamped the sentiments and frogs with Versafine Clair and heat-embossed with clear powder, then colored them with Promarkers and accented with silver glitter gel pen. I cut the scene and a larger Kraft card mat with Quickutz hexagon dies. I had an MFT Dainty Dots border die cut in my stash and laid that down diagonally before adding the matted scene.
And the sketch I used. I changed it to a landscape orientation in PSE.

This card was made for a girlfriend who loves our state flower, the Bluebonnet. I used Twisted Citron and Dusty Concord Distress inks through a TCW stencil for the background around the Eureka butterfly and bluebonnets digi that I'd printed and cut down for the 6x6 card front. I colored the focal with Promarkers. I'd also framed and printed out the sentiment and added it to finish.
And the sketch I used.

This card was for a niece and I used a 3D decoupaged flower basket from Katy Sue Designs as the focal. I cut all the paper pieces with various stitched dies I have and the designer paper is Basic Grey Origins. The MFT sentiment was stamped with Nocturne Versafine Clair. The card base is Recollections.
And the sketch I used.

That's all from me today.
I hope the coming week is a good one
and I thank you for the visit.
Seeya next week!

Your hare couple looks very adventurous 😀
Nice card 🤩
Nice selection of cards this week.I like the hares on the earth. I like how you think using that Shakespeare quote. And those frogs are really cute too. Of course you can never go wrong with flowers either. Good luck with your strawberries. I need to do a bit more planting but most things still need to be inside. Have a super week. Hope the weather is good. hugs-Erika
This year my husband is getting some tomato plants and he loves to garden/grow things, but I think our soil over here is a bit different so we could never do citrus. LOVE the earth day bunnies! Your flower card really bright and beautiful too! Very lovely selection of cards this week! Enjoy the outdoors!
Those partying frogs are so “hoppy” and the bluebonnets are gorgeous :)
Fabulous card Aimeslee
Much♡love
I grew a strawberry plant last summer and you have to keep the soil moist and layered straw, but I got a lovely crop off the one plant, so fingers crossed for yours, they are so tasty and juicy when you pick your own, so different from the supermarket ones..love your hares on the top of the world, the partying froggies are too cute, beautiful Bluebonnets and butterfly, and the basket of flowers are beautiful..lovely selection of cards..
