December 15th Weekly Post

 Happy Sunday!
Hope all is well in your world.
The ceiling work went very well and I did some things to my desktop to make it work better.
So the week turned out great for me!
The new theme at SPA is Reindeer, hosted by Anne.
I wanted to use the Artistic Outpost Midwinter stamp set because it has a reindeer I've never inked up. I started with a 4x6 white card. I stamped and heat-embossed the reindeer using Versafine Clair ink and clear ep. Then I cut a mask for the reindeer, applied it and a mask for the hill/ground, then ink-blended the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I placed a Memory Box Flurry Frame snowflake stencil over the card and stenciled using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. After that dried, I trimmed it down to layer onto a piece of 4x6 brown card. Then I added phrase stickers from Tim's Christmas Sticker Book, outlined them with a brown pencil and done!

And I have the final Christmas cards I haven't yet shared.
First one: some glitter foam tree and star stickers, 3 Gecko Galz collage sheet images, some yellow paper scraps and DCWV patterned paper on a white card base, plus a little outlining with Stickles and metallic gel pen. I've had those foam trees at least 10 years and I was shocked they are still good!
And the Splitcoaststampers sketch I used.
***********************
And second card: I used a print of the little Art Impressions stamped and colored scene I created last year and placed it behind a Sizzix /Tim window frame cut out of kraft card. The designer paper is from my stash scraps and the poinsettia bouquet is an Echo Park sticker. I added a Papertrey Ink sentiment stamped on a tan paper scrap and cut it to fit the window box. This card was an unexpected last-minute one and everything I used was in my scraps box of leftovers from previous projects. So I thought it turned out pretty well, considering.
And the Splitcoaststampers sketch I used.

Well, that is all from me today.
Thanks for the visit and have a wonderful final week before Christmas week.
Please don't stress, it'll be what it'll be, right?
Just breathe and enjoy.

Love the cards today Aimeslee; you hit a lot of high holiday points with these: the snow, the reindeer, the Christmas trees and the Christmas star. I have that Artistic Outpost set and I don't think I've inked the reindeer either. I should really do something about that. Grin. You did a great job with the stencil and the snowflakes. If I did that I would have had the essence of snowflakes not actual ones. Nice idea to use the window die cut too. I hope you have a great week ahead and no stressing on your part either. hugs-Erika

It's wonderful that you had a happy happy week! Your holiday cards are so beautiful. I especially like how the scrappy card turned out--it's hard to tell it's not planned, and made from scraps. And as always, you slayed that sketch--go you! :-) Anita xx
