Guest Designing for FarmQuest Homestyle Kitchen Challenge!

 Happy Sunday, everyone!
I'm honored to be guest designing for June's monthly challenge at FarmQuest Homestyle Kitchen, where anything food-related goes plus an option for a farmhouse and/or country vibe!
And here is my inspiration make. I've had this adorable  LOTV digital image in my files for awhile and decided it was time to use it, so I printed it out and colored it with my watercolor pencils. I also added some glitter to the powdered sugar and ran a green glitter marker around the outer frame that I added in PSE as a light grey. The designer papers I used are a mash up of Cosmo Cricket 8x8 TV Dinner and Basic Grey 6x6 Nook and Pantry collections. I cut a vertical Happy Birthday die and a signature seal out of white card. I stamped an Avery Elle sentiment with Versafine Claire and heat embossed it on the seal die.

I chose this Splitcoaststampers sketch for the layout design of my 6X8" card.
I rotated the sketch to be on its side in order to better accomodate the focal image.
And here's the back of card with Cosmo Cricket papers and a siggie I cut from one of the papers.
Close up of the focal image and heat-embossing of the stamped sentiment. I tried painting artsy and loose, not coloring each item with the pencils completely and instead pushing the coloring around and out with the wet brush. It was good practice for me and I like the result so much that I'm holding this card for Dear Daughter, whose birthday is in a month.

Close ups of the powdered sugar. I also used a white Polychromos pencil for it so that the white would not wash out when I brushed on the Wink of Stella clear liquid glitter. It looks really good in real life.
And final view.
Thanks to FQHJK for the opportunity to guest design and thank you for visiting.
Have a great Sunday!

  9. Your choice of the adorable LOTV digital image adds a delightful focal point to your card design, especially with the meticulous coloring using watercolor pencils and the added glitter accents. The combination of designer papers from Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey collections, along with the carefully selected layout based on a Splitcoaststampers sketch, creates a harmonious and visually appealing composition.
