Asemic Writing Tag and Birthday Card

Hi ho, hope you have all enjoyed a nice weekend and are ready for a new week.
Warning: I have a longer than usual post today.
😁

The challenge for Tag Tuesday is Asemic Writing. Now, I've had past experiences trying to do it and have concluded that, like Scribbling, I cannot do it. So, I Googled and found some public domain samples that I resized in PSE and printed out on SU light green card stock.

This is the sample I used for tag background. Cool, huh?
I used a Stamplorations tag die to cut it out.

And then, I used the tag on a birthday card for one of my nephews.
I made the background by ink blending with a Sheena Douglass Pop Dotty stencil and Peeled Paint Distress ink on light green SU card stock.

I chose this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my A7 layout design.
I substituted the 3 dots with the balloons and I made the parallelogram panel a bit wider.

On left is another sample that I really liked, so I used it for the center parallelogram panel of the card front. Also, the stenciled background after running a blue colored pencil and a dark blue gel pen around the edge.

Two close ups to show the clear heat embossing on the Hero Arts balloons, Sizzix hand, Scrollswork man and Hero Arts sentiment. Everything was stamped with Blue Belle Versafine Clair ink before heat embossing with clear powder. The Avery Elle signature seal die cut in white that the hand is on was cut off on one edge per the sketch. The tag and the parallelogram panel were edged with a blue Promarker.

Inside the card I stamped Hero Arts sentiments.
And on back I printed out the sample I really liked for the back, again printed in color on the light green SU card stock (which I also like).

Last look.
Thanks for reading to the end and also for the visit.
Enjoy your week.

I prefer feminine because it's easier for me.
But the more masculine cards I make, the easier it's getting. It's always a challenge, though.

Wow, this is a work of art Aimeslee and you have taught me what asemic writing is - I had no idea!

Thanks for your message on my blog. I use mainly SU inks just because I used to be a demo (but I have distress oxides on my wish list!!) On my card I used a red and an orange Arteza watercolour brush pen to colour the tulips, the gingham was stamped in SU Real Red and the sentiment was stamped in the darker SU Cherry Cobbler. Good mix of reds! Hope this helps. Vicky x

Definitely out of my comfort zone, but you handled it beautifully.

So glad you joined our "Anything Goes" challenge at Die Cut Divas.

That is a great tag, and it works so well with your birthday card theme. Great idea. And my normal writing looks like asemic writing, so it doesn't take much to write gibberish. Grin. Happy new week. hugs-Erika

Wow! I absolutely adore this card! It's incredibly well-crafted. While I used to find it easier to create stereotypically feminine cards, my perspective has evolved thanks to my children and their diverse friends. I've come to realize that art shouldn't be labeled by stereotypes. 😊 Just a little food for thought! Have a great day! Cheers, Makira

Clever of you to include an asemic writing background, Aimeslee! Like you, I've tried it in the past but haven't had much luck. It might be because I overthink it. It's a lot of fun to try it, though, so it'll probably be a while before I go the pre-created route! :-)

Love your tag Aimes! I couldn't doodle that either. I would just cry "uncle" and be done with it. LOL I love your take on the challenge. Have a fabulous day my friend.
