Celebrate! It's Your Year

Hello, hope all is well in your world.

Today I'm sharing a card that's wearing multiple hats. I mailed it off at the onset of the new year as a Happy New Year card. But I sent it to someone special to us who had a really crappy 2023 and included a heartfelt handwritten note inside that 2024 has got to be better, so it's also an encouragement card.
I think that's a great use of a New Years card when the situation warrants it.

Supplies Used:
Taylored Expression A2 Birch Tree Cover plate die
Sizzix Winter Wonderland Thinlit deer die
Sizzix Falling Stars Thinlit die
Impression Obsession Cardinals die
Lawn Fawn Bannerific stamp and die
Stepping Stones and My Favorite Things sentiment stamps
Bluebell Versafine Clair ink
Recollections white card
SU blue card base
Red and brown card scraps
Holographic gold foil recycled junk mail envelope

I began with a blue A2 card base. I cut the cover plate die out of white card and adhered to the base. I cut the stars out of the junk mail envelope I'd saved and I used the Falling Stars die on it, cutting a ton of various sized stars, which I adhered to the card base in between the birch tree trunks. (That was the most time-consuming part of the card.) I pulled the deer die cut out of my bits and bobs box along with some red cardinal die cuts to add to my little scene. I cut the banner die out of white card, stamped the coordinating outline stamp on it, trimmed it off on the left side and then stamped the sentiments.
And done!

Thanks for the visit today and have a good rest of your week!

Such a wonderful New Year's card, and a great way for wishing somebody all the best after a particularly hard period of time. The white dorest die cut goes so well against the blue background, and the animal dies are perfect to add some life to the scenery. I'm impressed by the number of stars you managed to squeeze onto your creation, and I like to think that each represents one good wish for the recipient. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

Hugs, Veronika

I hope it's a good year for you. I love this background and all the stars. And of course deer are pretty regal and you can't go wrong adding them. And to continue with your weather comment, they are saying we could get some snow this Saturday night into Sunday. I'm not sure what the latest track is, but it is January. I'd rather it snow now than in March. Sometimes these storms move out to sea south of us and Massachusetts gets dumped on and we get nothing. I hope you are having a lovely first week of January. hugs-Erika
