Happy Wednesday, hope all are warm and well. We had quite a wild weather afternoon yesterday. It was comparatively uneventful at our house, just a lot of scary wind and 2 inches of rain, but an EF-3 tornado reeked all kinds of havoc to a couple of towns just south of mine. Then, the twister moved on up through here. Very, very thankful it chose a path a mile or so to our west. I saw eyewitness photos of 18-wheelers and railroad cars laying on their sides! Much of the area hit is still without electricity, as over 150 poles were knocked down. There was even a natural gas line explosion. A lot of trauma, lots of damage, and as the weather moves on northeast across the deep south states, I'm sure a lot more havoc. I couldn't even look at the news today, too worn out from yesterday's stress, but keeping all in my prayers.
These ladies are not interested in tornados, unless it's a mixed drink! I'm sharing a birthday card made for a dear girlfriend, made from card stock scraps and designer paper from an A2 birthday-themed paper pack. I've used the Pattie's Creations digital stamp called Cheers to You, Ladies. I've colored it all first with Promarkers and then gave it a really good embellishment with my Spectrum Noir Glitter Marker Pens. I hand-stamped the sentiments and all the little stars that surround the ladies in the background.
I chose this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my layout design.
Supplies List:
Blick tag board for A7 card base
SU card stock scraps from stash
Pebbles Birthday designer paper
Pattie's Creations digital stamp
Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Glitter Marker Pens
Skipping Stones sentiment stamped with Versafine Clair ink
Inkadinkado star stamp, stamped with Versafine Clair ink
Satin Ribbons from stash
A shot of the card front before adhering the focal image to show the 2 satin ribbons from my stash that I used: a wide ribbon placed vertically center and a skinny one placed behind and across the 3 sentiment squares (and a deviation from the sketch...artistic license! 😎).
Inside, scraps leftover from the front dp on a pink stash scrap. I've stamped MFT sentiments with Versafine Clair ink.
And a view of the back with the front.
Close ups of those sparkly, glittery ladies and the stamped stars...they are quite 'stunning', eh? 😆
One last look.
Thanks for the visit and have a great night!

Hoping those who were affected by the EF3 are doing ok, and able to pick up and move on. It's so hard when something catastrophic like that occurs. Aimes, your card is darling! Those ladies definitely look blitzed with their sparkly glasses! LOL Cute card, and beautifully put together! hugs, de
Awesome card my friend. Those ladies look like I'm feeling "let's get a drink" and "it's ladies night out". :) I"m so glad the tornado stayed away from you. You don't want to be in the path of one of those things. I'm hoping the stress settles down for you soon.
Your weather sounds very scary at the moment, must admit I hate strong winds.
Love the card, those ladies are so cool with their sparkly glasses.

OH! My goodness, how scary was your day, I'm grateful you missed the twister, but how awful for those people living through it and the resulting damage. As for your fun and beautiful card? Love it. Fun images, love the cheers done 3 times to match those ladies. Love the stars and the fabulous cheery colours again. Great insert and back too. A Super card Aimes.

This is such a fun, cute card. I love making cards for my friends as we age. Wow, scary having a tornado be that close to you. Thanks goodness it avoided you!
Those three ladies look like they are ready for whatever life hands to them (including a tornado)! Great card :)

I’ve twice lived someplace where a twister went through on the opposite side of town. It’s scary and the damage is always amazing to look at but makes you feel lucky it didn’t happen to you. And I like these 3 Birthday ladies. It’s a fun card and certain a triple cheer. Hope other than the storm your week has gone well. Hugs erika
