A Penguin Hug & Some Food!

Hey there, hope you are all winding down a good week. After several hot days of thunder and little rain, we finally got a good afternoon of soaking rain. The temperature dropped a bit and was much appreciated!
Today I have another Christmas card using a black n white digi named Penguin Hug from Di's Digi Stamps printed on Springhill Digital card. I colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Star Dust Stickles. Then I cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Circles die.

I used the current Cheerful Sketches Challenge Sketch #111, but had to show how I changed the orientation. I basically rotated it to upside and then flipped that horizontally, in PSE. The sketch element for the sentiment fit on my focal image best that way.
I stamped the EKS sentiment with Green Oasis Versafine Clair ink, heat-embossed it with clear powder and cut it with an MFT sentiment die. The die cut holly and berries are from a very old Accucut die and colored with the same markers. I also added some red and green dotted sheer ribbon from my stash.
Close-up of focal image to show the snowy Stickles glitter.
Inside, I used another large piece of scrap stash designer paper, another Spellbinders Classic Circle cut from shite card and a Flourishes sentiment stamped with Green Oasis Versafine Clair ink.
On back, another of the same green card and designer paper as on the front, along with an I/O siggie stamped with Green Oasis Versafine Clair ink and fussy cut.
And final view. Got one more Christmas card done and used up a weird-sized envelope, some ribbon and designer paper stash scraps. It was a good endeavor!
But Wait, There's More...
If it's Thursday, it's Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date! On her menu this week is figure drawing and pizza. Well, I don't have any figure drawings (I suck at that), but I do have some food to share. It's one of our complete dinners that we sometimes fix. We call them Twofer Meals.
All a Twofer Meal means to us is that we fix it up in one big bowl and we split it, like what we sometimes used to do in a restaurant before Covid. Here we fixed a big Taco Salad. Ground meat was cooked with a packet of taco seasoning and then a can of black beans was mixed in and that mixture was drained well before adding to a bottom lettuce layer, a layer of crunched up taco chips and a layer of grated cheese. Dollop of sour cream on top.
With it we each had our own plate of taco chips with melted grated cheese and pickled okra. Any pickled peppers could be subbed for the okra.
And for dessert, watermelon chunks and Cottage Cheese Jello Salad, to which we added walnuts.
Summertime refresh!
Thanks so much for the visit today and I hope your weekend is looking good! Stay well! XOX
MY CHALLENGE PLAYLIST:
I used a Di's image called Penguin Hug
I used a Spellbinders Scalloped Circle die and an Accucut Holly die
I used a Di's digi.
According to Google, Penguins have Wings and I used Zig Markers to color

Very cute Christmas card! Even better meal! That food looks just amazing. It's making me hungry and its only 6:45 in the morning. I'm gong out to breakfast today with a close friend. I think I may add a little Mexican flair to my breakfast now.

How did I miss this? I thought I visited everyone on Rain’s site last week. Hmmmm. Your card is very cute. I’m not sure snowmen yet as our winters are too long to start with-smile! Seriously, I like that image. And your salad looks mighty yummy. I don’t even know if you c an buy pickled okra up here. Perhaps in specialty markets. I need to look and see to satisfy my curiosity. Hope that terrible rain is not in the Houston area also. Hugs Erika
