Hello. Hope everyone is well. I'm popping in to share a Christmas card.
OKAY, electricity is back on and I can finish this post. We are having a new vent hood put in and the work will be continuing tomorrow. We borrowed a neighbor's generator for the icebox and air conditioning. So, because I've not had indoor lighting today, I decided to work on this card because it's a limited color palette, pink and grey. I used Morning Mist Versafine Clair for my stamping ink and Artistic Outpost's Sleigh Ride stamp set (which I've had for years and had never inked up).
I used the stand of trees as background.
I used one of Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2's current challenge sketches for my design layout.
I used a white Bazzill 6x6 card base, some dark pink Bazzill for my base mats front and back, some grey SU card for matting and a scrap of light pink Autumn Leaves patterned paper for my top paper layer. On it I stamped the trees with the VF Clair, which I also used to stamp the sentiment and the girls. I colored them with Promarkers and fussy cut them. I used my metallic silver shadow gel pens on the sleigh blading and the flourish peeking out from under the bottom of the circle. I die cut a Elizabeth Craft bow from white card and colored it with the silver gel pen as well. I added store bought silver metallic snowflakes at each corner per the sketch. Oh, and I stippled Angel Pink Memento ink on the sentiment and edged it with an ice grey Promarker.
Inside at left, I stamped a Stamplorations sentiment with the VF Clair and accented with a pink Promarker. At right is a shot of the card back along with the front to show continuity. I have used a sheet of Pink & Main Frosty patterned paper on top of the dark pink base mat, and a stamped and punched siggie.
And final view. I have a huge collection of AO stamp sets (almost 70 sets!) because I love their vintage look, but some of them really intimidate me. So I need to just use them and get over it. At any rate, one more Christmas card done and an otherwise on-hold day was productive for me. I'm not a fan of this color combo, but that's okay because it does have a wintery look to it. I also probably don't have the best shades of the colors to look really good, because I've seen some really nice pink and grey cards. Still glad I tried it out.
Have a great evening/day, thanks for visiting me and keep on crafting! XOX

Such a cute festive card!
ReplyDeleteLovely Christmas card Aimeslee. Great colours and what a lovely image. I noticed your handmade embellishment on the back of your card. Have a look at my blog I have one I use on my cards sometimes that's Handmade with love and a heart in the centre. If you would like the file I can always email it to you. I size them and then print a whole sheet of them and use them when needed. Wow don't we rely on electricity so much, you don't realise it until you go to do something that needs it. Great card and thanks so much for sharing it with us over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and good luck.
