Lost in Translation Journal Page

Hello, hope everyone is having a nice weekend. So far, Honey and I have made banana bread, did some back porch relaxing in our present pleasant weather and I created a Gothic Halloween page in my Puns & Roses Wordplay glue book while he mowed the back yard.
Supplies:
Gecko Galz digital image of winged skeleton on dictionary page background
Avery Full Sheet Ink Jet Label Paper with True Block
Miscellaneous stamps-stash
Distress inks
Versafine Clair ink
Washi tape-stash
This is the original image provided for the GG Gothic Challenge. I looked at this image of a winged skeleton checking the bottom of his metatarsals and thought, ok, I could go with "Never too late to examine one's soul" hahaha. But then, "Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet" popped into my head and of course I went with that one! heeheehee
I'm close to filling up this glue book and it's getting more difficult to work in directly, so lately I've been making my pages on the label paper and then adhering in my glue book. It's so much easier too. For this page, I began in PSE on the computer with the image a bit smaller than my physical book page. I typed the Lost in Transition using the Text tool and typed the song lyrics to cut out. I also created the image the size of my book page and printed both out. After printing out on the Avery paper, I fussy cut the song lyrics and smaller page. I ink-blended both pages and song lyrics with Dried Marigold and Tumbled Glass Distress inks and ink-edged with Black Soot. I used the Black Soot to ink the outer edge of my book page as well. Then I adhered the smaller page onto the larger one, adhered the lyric strips, stamped the birds and cat and added the washi.
Here's a close-up of him checking out his foot as it's kind of hard to see, and I lack the PSE skills to have highlighted it better. Poor Skelly, he wants so bad to play with live kids and he hears their song but can't figure out what the words mean, lol. And I found it doubly rich that the image is on a dictionary page! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰
And final view. I hope it gave you a little chuckle. Thanks for visiting me and enjoy your day. XOX

Sounds like you're having a nice weekend. I spent yesterday moving supplies into the new craft space. I'm still so far from done, but happy to be getting along. This is a cool piece. Crows were the perfect addition for that skelly image. It also works for Matilde's challenge at AJJ, which is a bonus. Smile. Thanks for joining us. I like how you used that fun Halloween quote too. I love making Halloween art. Not rushing the fall though. Spring and summer take forever to arrive here, so I am going to enjoy it while it's around. Have a great rest of your long weekend and don't eat too much banana bread. Hugs-Erika
