Hello everyone. Today I have a Halloween card. I always plan to try to play at Two Old Bats and use the Gecko Galz Gothic image. This month I'm using last month's image because I printed it out and never got to it in time. I like it better than this month's image, though. That's how it goes sometimes.
Except for the lime green SU 6x6 card base, all papers are from my Halloween scraps. I found the fence, jack o'lantern and ghost die cuts there too. Add some of Mom's orange lace and some black markers and deco-scissor edging to all the paper layering, I think it made a great scraps cards.
Next, the Two Old Bats optional mood board. Even if I don't always use it, I still look. I saw an umbrella, jack o'lanterns, fence, ghost, as well as the colors orange, black and green. So that's what I went with. Interestingly enough, no cat, but I was committed to my image. Whatever she's waving in her hand looked like a lace umbrella to me so I used some of my mom's lace. At any rate, this month I actually used the mood board some. 😁
The Gecko Galz focal image was outlined with a black marker and then I stippled Crackling Campfire Distress ink on the creamy yellow background to make it more dramatic looking. I have rediscovered ink stippling and find it a refreshing alternative to ink blending. I like the variations in color intensity you can achieve. It's more forgiving than blending; less labor-intensive than coloring a background, too. 😊😍😋 I also stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment.
The back has more paper like on the front and you can see the orange-glittered sections much better. I also edged the patterned card with a black marker and colored the stamped and circle-punched siggie.
And a final view. Thanks for your visit and your well-wishes. I'm slowly having an easier time of it in some respects. I've been keeping a diary and that helps me see it.
