Hey there! Hope all are well this Tuesday. Honey and I are good. I'm busy getting mail addressed and crafting projects done, while Honey is doing house projects (caulking, painting, cleaning). We are both staying busy. Today I'm sharing another birthday guy card, this time one with a space alien theme. It actually turned out better than I'd envisioned and I've heard from the happy recipient, so I may well make another version of this card again.
I began the card with a 6x6" base cut from 12x12" Bazzill textured card stock, which I also used as matting, along with some green marble-y KI Memories 12x12" card stock. I printed out a digital background from We Are 3 Digital Shop's Moon Desert Papers
So this is what the background looked like before I darkened it to print and added my other elements.
I used this sketch from Splitcoaststampers for my layout design. The hardest part of this sketch is getting elements 2-5 to all fit together and be square, so measuring is key. I used 4 identical paper strips with double sided tape that I adhered 2 different designs of washi tape to, said a lil prayer and thankfully everything lined up perfectly! π
I stamped and die-cut the Altenew moon and then stamped and die-cut the Gerda Steiner spaceship and two aliens. I colored them all with Promarkers and then added metallic gel pens to the ship. Once I had everything arranged and adhered, I stamped the Gerda Steiner sentiments with black Versafine Clair ink.
I included a handwritten note on the inside right, but I matted the left side with a sheet from Carta Bella's 6x6 Space Academy papers. The recipient loved reading the 2138 Intergalactic Schedule. π
I used another sheet of the Carta Bella papers on the back of the card, along with a strip from the scraps and a circle-punched Technique Tuesday stamped siggie colored with Promarkers.
Some close-ups to show the shine coming off the card and the front-back coordinated look!
And a final view. These aliens make me happy to look at and I love the rainbow-y look of the washi tapes together, so I'll link it to the final Rainbow Card Challenge -- that's where you find a rainbow, in space! π Thanks for visiting me today and until next time, stay crafty and well! XOX

Wonderful card Aimeslee. I looked to see if I could find a digital version of your aliens but didn't manage it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and lovely words. You can see that I am managing a little typing with help from new painkillers. I hope to be up to speed in the New year. Have a super Christmas.
