Happy Hump Day, Blogging Friends! Time for another new challenge at Outlawz Wednesday Sketch, which begins today and runs through Tuesday, 8/31. Here is my design team make using the sketch and an adorable image by our sponsor for August, Sherry West Art.
My Canadian blogging friend Bethie recently had a birthday and I made her this card. We've exchanged cards for a while now and just as I'd figured out that what I mail to her takes 9 business days or so, the Pandemic came and poof! no more reliability. The last thing that I sent before this card took weeks, so I made this and mailed it super early, hoping she'd get it before I needed to post it. LOL, it got there in record time SUPER EARLY, but at least it wasn't late!
Here's the Outlawz sketch. Remember that the sketch is for inspiration. Feel free to flip, rotate, re-size so long as we can see how the sketch lead to your creation. You can create anything, a card, tag, scrap page, box, gift bag, just as long as the sketch is your inspiration and recognizable. You may enter as many times as you like.
I've used a card base cut from a light tan Making Memories 12x12" card stock and designer papers on the front and back from Glitz's Happy Travels 6x6 pack. The zig-zag Chevron stripes are MFT dies. I printed out the Sherry West Art digi scene on Springhill Digital and cut the Memory Box and Martha Stewart butterflies from the scraps. I colored the scene with my Promarkers. I edge-distressed the focal and the paper mats, then ink-distressed all papers with a brown VersaMagic chalk ink. Paper flowers and sequins came from my stash.
I used a sheet of 12x12" scrapbook paper to mat the inside. I not a 100% but I believe the sheet is from Colorbok's Vintage Treasure papers. The page is already collaged with the "happy", so all I had to do was stamp the "Be" (Brenda Walton Maison Ornate alpha stamps), "Celebrate" and "Wish" (both Fiskars) on the left and Uniko sentiments on the right.
The back has more Glitz papers and a Kaiserkraft stamped siggie...Shabby vintage style with just a touch of distressing grunge...
I have just a little bit of Sakura metallic glitter gel pen on the dragonfly...And a final view. Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a great rest of the week! Until next time, Stay Well and Craft On!! XOXMY CHALLENGE PLAYLIST:

A super card, loving your attack on texture. Thanks for sharing with Cardz4Galz, we look forward to you visiting us again. Caz. DT.
ReplyDeleteAimeslee this is a super cute image and your whole card is a work of art. Post worldwide is crazy. We follow a photographer on YouTube in Canada and he said that books he has sold are taking 12-16 weeks to get anywhere so you did well to get it to Bethie in time for her birthday.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for entering your lovely card into our challenge. Good luck with the prize draw.
Stay healthy, happy, keep crafting and Creating Joy :)
