Angel of Heartfelt Sympathy

Well, I have been blog-awol for over a week, did ya miss me? LOL, don't answer that! 😁 The only excuse I have is that Life snowballed! In addition to making my usual DT project for June, I also have a June guest-designing gig to make ahead for and wouldn't you know it, my muse decided to take a lil vacay plus my Arthurs decided to act up. Thankfully, none of any of that lasted long so I just took the detours and went along for the ride. I'm a bit behind in what I wanted to finish up for May, but that happens every month, lol. Hope everyone is well and safe!
I've got a girlfriend who just lost her dad recently, so today I'm sharing the card I made for her. I've been wanting to use Technique Junkie's Angel Holding Moon for a long time. I got as far as stamping and heat-embossing her to make a card for my inventory before actually needing a card. I paired her with blue SU card stock and Basic Grey Granola 6x6 designer papers. The The A-2 sized tent card base is from an old sheet of Junkitz I found in my blue scraps drawer.

I used SplitCoastStampers Sketch SC122 for my layout, resizing to A-2 in PSE.

I colored the angel, moon and water with Promarkers, then I used a Sakura Clear Star Glitter gel pen to color in her crown, dress trim, wings and sparkled up the water. I used Snickerdoodle Smooch ink to color the perimeter of the image which was previously stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne black and then clear heat-embossed. I wanted a soft sheen to complement the moon, so I was quite pleased with the effect. I stamped the Pink By Design sentiment in VersaMark and then used Ranger Vintage Pearl embossing powder. It photographs more white but in real life it is almost a perfect match to the Snickerdoodle Smooch "frame".  Don't know if it's noticeable, but I positioned both designer paper patterns in their downward orientations as I think it complements her wing feathers, maybe too subtly but I see it.

Here are some close-ups I took to try to capture the shimmery, glittery shine coming off this card...

And here is the inside and back of the card. The simple inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up, leaving plenty of room for my hand-written note. The back is an arrangement of the scraps from the front plus an Impression Obsession siggie stamped in VersaMark and embossed with the Ranger Vintage Pearl powder. I also used a Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner die on the piece underneath.

I hope my friend takes some comfort from this card. I hope you enjoyed visiting me and I thank you for taking the time! Until next time, stay crafty! XOX

  6. You're a very busy lady. Congrats on another guest position. You are just rocking it out. Yes indeed I wondered where you were Aimes. I actually went to your blog to see if my subscription disappeared--LOL

This is a darling image and so very pretty done up in your style. I've been looking over older TJ stamps because they have alot of intricate work.

I'm sorry to hear you're under the weather again. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs, Bethie
