A Birthday Tower of Air Power!

Happy March and Happy FriYay! Since Sunday was my birthday, I took off this month from my design team duty to provide a sample, and I've just been lazing around this week. Crafting some, but not with much ambition and it felt good. Time to get back to it, though. After family left on Sunday, I made a 6x6 family birthday card to display when there's a family birthday! I used a piece of Office Depot legal sized index card stock for the card base and taped it shut to give it strength.

I used  6x6 Basic Grey Hopscotch papers, Docraft X-cut balloon dies, Sizzix Nested Stars and a Divinity Designs sentiment die, all cut from the BG papers. I also had several green BG paper strips leftover from a previous project, so I used them to frame my two layered mats. Lots of die cuts and lots of layered patterned papers on this one.

I used Split Coast Stampers sketch SC505, resizing in PSE to get my layer measurements. The sketch's circles are represented by the stars on my card.

Here's the back of the card, with another sheet of the BG Hopscotch paper, and a scrap strip and 2 leftover stars from the front. I've stamped an old siggie on the larger star and then realized it was the wrong choice as I have not stamped at all on this project, lol. Oh well, I did stamp that! haha

The balloon dies come with the bunched strings and bow dies, and once I arranged everything it reminded me of a balloon tower or balloon air ship, so I am entering it in Inkspirational's Word Prompt Challenge "Tower". I popped the top balloons up on dimensionals for a little depth, but wasn't enthused about adding bling or sequins or even any dots. Just wanted to get her done and hung. If it bothers me enough, I can always add some later.

Here she is hanging from her display pedestal, where she will stay until I get all the St. Pats/Spring/Easter decs out this weekend. Thanks for visiting and I hope your weekend is a good one. Until next time, stay healthy and crafty! XXO

Such a dearling card and idea to have it out for birthday celebrations. Handmade makes it extra special. This is such a pretty design and the colours really draw me in. Yes, your birthday snuck up on me. It was in my calendar but I didn't see it until Thursday. Watch for your late card. Hugs and love to you Aimes.

Its quite nice to take a break from card making, I did the same over Christmas and it gave me renewed energy for crafting. You definitely haven't lost your touch as this card screams happiness and party-time. Love the mix of colours and paper patterns, and those die-cut balloons are fabulous. Nice to have a break from stamping too! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and so glad you could join ours at TIME OUT!
